Dr. Joseph Saul Spindler, MD

Incompetent and unaccountable. Dr. Spindler allowed my wheelchair-ridden father to suffer for a month with a urinary tract infection that could have killed him. The office was defensive when confronted. Do not risk your time or life.

In 1986 I was suffering from acute knee pain when I walked, so I saw about 12 doctors before I found Dr. Spindler, who was the doctor of an acquaintance. The acquaintance and closer friend of my close friend, went to live in New Jersey when her husband was transferred. She continued to travel here to see Dr. Spindler. I found him very pleasant and very careful. It happened that I did not have rheumatic arthritis, but I did have a mitral valve prolapse, which he had diagnosed via an echocardiogram. I have tried to go back to him once I found he treats other kinds of joint pain, but I can't get through the front office. Because I refuse to give my social security number to any firm which does not pay ME, for security reasons.... not all medical computers remain confidential from hackers hungry to swallow up others' identies aka identity theft, we are denied the care that his highly principled, skillfull and dedicated rheumatoligist and arthritis specialist can handle for us. I… would love see him again professionally; most other businesses and hospitals do not fail to see me because I won't share my SS#, and most agree with my caution.

He diagnosed my auto immune disease, scribbled a few notes on the tissue paper of the treatment table next to where I sat, ripped the piece off, handed it to me and said ‘go home and look it up’ with zero attempt to explain anything. No bedside manner, not a nice man. I tried to engage him, cajole him, draw him out for 2 years and he remained a stiff and was flat unpleasant. I wized up and found another doctor who I love.

This is something I feel a customer/patient should not have pay for especially when your pharmacy sends in numerous requests that aren’t being fulfilled. I asked him as well as his office staff, why was I being charged for this? His only explanation was because I (meaning me) didn’t do my homework. Although I’m no longer in school, I asked multiple times “what exactly was my homework “? I make all of my appointments, my account is paid up, I take my prescribed meds, so what is my Homework? To make a long story short, when I expressed my feelings to him, he pushed back from where he was seated, stood up as if to intimidate, and asked “What did I want him to do about it because I said this more than once”! My response was “I know what to do, I no longer need your services” and walked out because this could have ended a whole lot differently. Their claim was because of the amount of time it takes to do a prior authorization which took all of 5 minutes; this I know because the… call was made while I was still on the phone with the office personal that made the call. My first visit didn't fare well because of staff issues, but as quickly as I am to report unprofessional behavior, I am equally quick to write commendations. I was pleasantly pleased with my second visit from the moment I walked in the door. The staff;s greeting was comforting, welcoming,and reassuring. Dr. Spindler is an awesome physician! He will patiently listen to you, and pursue every avenue to determine the course of action for your well being. He has a quiet bedside manner, but will engage you in discussion about your healthcare. I'm very pleased with Dr. Spindler and his staff. Sometimes, there are second opportunities to make a first good impression.

Patients make appointments to see doctors and specialists because we’re ill. No one wants to hear the receptionist and support staff snickering and making fun of their appearance while waiting to see the physician on the 1st visit. The doctor had a professional demeanor, but his staff was rude. I am not so confident about how they conduct themselves with patient’s medical information. We’re still in the early stages, so time will tell.

Dr. Splinder is the best. So courteous, takes time to explain and answer questions. Staff is courteous.

No longer knows what he is doing. At 74 he thinks all other doctors are wrong. Only doctor syndrome. Be prepared to spend $4000 for your first visit.

All things were great,from coming in the door to leaving. No really wait time and all staff was sincere. Would recommend to anyone.
