Dr. Joshua Trent Powell, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Powell for years. I had shingles that went into my eye. Happily I was referred. He was great. Being a eye doctor and doctor. He wrote me some prescriptions. For the shingles and eye drops. It all worked out great. I am forever grateful to Dr Powell.

Dr Powell is a great Dr. The staff is also great. I'm always comfortable going to my visits. You can tell they really care for you. Their great reminding you ( which I need over and over lol) of your appointments, not cause they want your business, but because they care about your eye sight. I'm thankful I was sent to Dr Powell!!!

I was pleased with the service I received. The staff were all pleasant towards me. My only complaint is having to move around so much from one exam room to the next having small tests done before I saw the doctor for about two minutes.

Courteous and professional

Dr. Powell subjects patients to general anesthesia for routine cataract surgery, which is entirely unnecessary and not widely practiced at all, (but provides financial security for him). I was under considerable pressure to purchase expensive lenses instead of regular cataract lenses. Insurance will not cover this and I declined. Mandatory video presentation prior to cataract surgery and very impersonal staff (including assistant Stewart). In your best interest : Consult another doctor!

really rude staff to sum it all up. doctor extremely rude and arrogant, as well as other people who work there. agree with the negative reviews, felt like i was unwanted in their office. i do not like their attitutes or how they treat their patients. also required me to do unecessary things. seems like a money hungry office. choose any opthamologist other than dr powell friends!

I had an appointment with a few questions concerning a chalazion. I had questions such as if I should not wear contacts/ eye makeup or how long I should wait before the surgery. I recently already had my eyes dialated. I did not want to do this as I only had a few questions, and TASHA SPERRY told me I was not welcome in their office. She pointed toward the door and practically shouted I needed to leave. I told her this was unprofessional, and she told me she had a right to be rude and unprofessional, LITERALLY!! She said those exact words. She also told me that I should not be welcome in any medical office. She even said that they do not have to wash their hands before touching a patient's eyes. TRASHY!! Tasha Sperry I hope you see this ;) NOT ONCE did the doctor come to apologize or say anything. Horrible service!!

I was treated more as a nuisance than a patient. He didn't answer my questions. He didn't address my issues. I felt rushed to be in and out quickly. I would not recommend him to anybody.
