Dr. Joy Carlos Reyes, MD

My husband was recently diagnosed with severe depression with episodes of Physicist features. Dr. Reyes as well as her colleague Jake Johnson doesn't have my husbands best interest. My husbands position at work has gotten him to this point of being admitted. 4 days into my husbands treatment at bridgeport hospital I have a meeting with the social worker and Dr. Jake johnson NO sign of dr.reyes on a plan for recovery for my husband. Dr Jake Johnson said he discussed with Dr. reyes on having my husband back to a 40 hour work week 2 days after discharge knowing my husbands anti- depressants have not kicked in yet. Dr. jake said they will take a few weeks to. My husband and I both advocated on needing time off from work (fmla) to focus on his health, continue out patient and wait for his medications to kick in. Dr. Jake continued to state that my husband should talk out his problems to his collegues and boss. This plan will violate my husbands hippa and quite frankly is no one in his jobs… business. Dr. Reyes and dr. jake DOES NOT HAVE FAMILIES BEST INTEREST. They are doing my husband a disservice and had put him in a diffulcult position. I called today to speak to dr reyes and her collegue dr. jake had lied stated she wasn't in when dr. reyes secretary amy stated other wise. I don't appreciate the mistreatment, the unprofessionalism, and I will not stop advocating for my husband until something is done. Dr. Reyes shame on you for not having my husbands best interest. As far as dr. Jake Johnson shame on you for not modifying my husbands fmla your "absolutely not, and well just because some patients ask for oxy-cotin doesn't mean I can give it to them." comment was very unprofessional and has nothing to do with modifying time off for a man who is ill and medications hasn't kicked in so he can continue living his day to day life. Something must be done!!!

Absolutely horrible. Didn’t communicate with family at all despite numerous requests. Ask for a new doctor immediately.

She treated my son for depression and on our her first visit within 10 minutes of seeing him she not once but three times repeated that he must be like a failure for his failed suicide attempt. When we reported it and asked for a new doctor they told us it was wrong of her but probably a culture issue being she apparently isn't from here. They then retaliated against our son for filing the complaint because she is head of the department. They kept him am additional 9 days longer than our private doctor thought was healthy and against my sons wishes.
