absolutely horrible. they live in the 80s. everything is paper. no electronic records. doc calls you with results and if doc is on vacation, it waits til she gets back. you never see a copy of anything and when you ask for one, they send it via unsecured email. they charge $100 for all patients to cover their admin fees. i went there for 6 months and requested copies of my medical records because i am switching to a different doc. they then wanted to charge me $65 for my records which is frankly, against illinois law. i am perimenopause and instead of dr chams telling me that there was hormone replacement therapy that could help, she put me on the pill and i bled for 3 weeks. her office would tell me they left appointment reminders for me but I never got them. they asked me to email them my mammogram results but then claimed they never got them. possibly the worst doc's office i've ever experienced. DO NOT go here. Horrible patient experience.

She is amazing!

Very good dr. Easy to talk yo. Will talk to you during the day. You don't wait hours for her to get back to you. Will always fit you in for energencies

Both my children were delivered by Dr. Chams and, although you may have to wait to see her at times, I understand that it's simply the nature of the practice. They have emergencies all the time and have to take those patients first. I know, because I had emergency visits during my first pregnancy and they always got me right in, ahead of the others. So now if I have to wait, I wait. It's well worth it, and I NEVER feel rushed once I'm in the room to see her. She is kind, caring and efficient. Highly recommend.

Dr. Joyce is wonderful - she has a personality and spends time with you and even though you only see her once ever 6 - 9 months, she actually remembers you. I feel like her customer and not just someone she's doing a favor like - like most doctors make you feel. The staff is another story. Very cold and abrupt. Not friendly at all and I feel like I'm "putting them out" when I ask them to make an appointment.

I had a good experience with doctor Chams and her father (before he retired). They are good doctors and very nice people (although I do feel that Dr. Joyce Chams is at this point overbooked and does not have a lot of time to spend with each patient). Regardless of her credentials, I will absolutely never go back to see her again because of the staff and the fact that I feel rushed (I hope to have a baby soon and I need attention from the doctor). I tried making appointments 3 times in the past month and the staff either told me the wrong location, or completely lost my appointment time and tried to tell me it was for another day ( I actually had someone with me that witnessed the appointment making so I know I didn't make a mistake). My last straw was that once I went for my last visit they convinced me (after an hour of a wait) that the doctor did not take my new insurance. I believed them (stupid of me) as I see them more knowledgeable about these matters....I lost a day of… work....lost time ....and I called my insurance today and guess what...She is covered! In addition, when her Dr. Albert Chams retired (he was my OBGYN originally), I got no notice of it. I found out that he is no longer there when I tried to make an appointment (luckily I know his daughter is a good doctor because I would have been left stranded without a doctor). I thought this was an oversight , but now I know the staff dropped the ball back then too. Too bad because I was a patient for over 5 years and this is what makes me not go back.

Delivered all three of our kids. One was complicated and she was very helpful.

Can't agree more with the previous review. Always a long time to wait! She doesn't have neither evening hours nor Saturdays, so I have to take day off to sit in a waiting room for 40-50 minutes, then about 5-10 minutes in a smaller waiting room. I am looking for another OB.

Dr Chams is very professional once she's in the room with you. She is always interested in any/all medical issues that might not even be related to gynecology, which I see as a good thing in a doctor. It's good to have someone looking at the "big picture". She's easy to talk to about any issues and aggressive about finding a solution. That said, I have NEVER waited less than 45 minutes at her office. NEVER. Mind you, I am always on time for my appointment so it's not like I am late and she pushes me to the end. Then once you're in the room, it's another 10 minute wait for her to get in there, and then she's in and out in 5 minutes. So a 5 minute appointment translates to almost an hour and a half of your time. The first few times I let it slide but I've never gotten in more quickly than that and I see it as a reflection of the way the office is run.

Dr Joyce is the BEST doctor I've ever been to. I practice internal medicine south of Chicago and make the 60 minute drive to see her annually with pleasure! I refer ALL of my female patients to her. Simply the greatest!
