Dr. Juan Ricardo Rubero, MD

If you are just entering or your physician leaves the VA it is common practice for the management staff to assign you your primary care physician. I saw Dr. Rubero yesterday for the first time and I have to say “I Lucked Out”. A few of my previous PCP didn’t work as well as I would’ve liked. Dr. Rubero immediately puts you at ease, which is very important for the Patient/Doctor relationship. Dr. Rubero diagnosed my symptoms and ordered the necessary meds and follow-up tests. The only request I have of Dr. Rubero is “Please Stay at Mather VA. Thank You --John

Just met Dr Juan Rubero for the 1st time today at Mather VA. An Outstanding Doctor. Very knowledgable, Gifted Professional. Great compassion for the patient. All Doctors should be this Great!

Cares for patients, tentative, listens and gives 150%. Always a pleasure. Hard worker and has his patients best interests in mind.

I have been seeing Dr.Juan Rubero going on Three years. He was appointed to me after my other VA Doctor Quit. When I first went in for an appointment with Dr. Rubero he knew more about my medical condition than I did. I was very impressed. I was in a wheel chair at our first visit and I am proud to say that now I do not have to use a wheel chair anymore thanks to Dr. Rubero. He has done over and beyond his ability to help me and I thank God every day I have him for my doctor. I rate Dr. Rubero with 5 stars.I heard through the grapevine that the upper level have tried to get rid of Dr. Rubero and this would be bad for the Sacramento VA because we patient's of Dr. Rubero would cause a stink the VA would never forget. Leave our Doctor alone and mind your own business. This is from a Veteran that really likes his Doctor so any of you people above him need to thank him for doing such a great job with his patients.

Dr. Rubero was my third m.d. after being told by my previous m.d. that she only had 15 minutes allotted for me. Dr. Rubero not only examined me thoroughly but he went through my medications list and changed for the better many doses. I have been a patient of Dr.Rubero for over a year and I am doing better. He is an outstanding physician that is in great demand. I salute Dr. Rubero, and I thank you for your great service.

I could tell right away Dr Rubero is very dedicated to his job and committed to my health. He takes the time to listen and explain my medical in detail. He is thorough, polite and very professional. I suffer from multiple illnesses which require a lot of attention and I have met many doctors throughout my medical history and I can honestly say that dr Rubero is top tier. The guy here with hepC who wrote a bad review is simply wrong. I know people like that and they are never happy or satisfied regardless of any doctor they may see. If you sir have hepC then most likely you're no stranger to IV drugs. If the doctor stopped two of your meds, then most likely they were either not indicated or affecting your liver. Connecting the dots logically is not that difficult to see in your case, the drugs which were probably adjusted by the doctor are Oxys and you were probably abusing them which goes back to how you got hepC. Your so called hernia was probably not a hernia. You probably walked… out the office as bitter as before you got in expecting a miracle cure in just one visit probably before all your previous records were even available. And if you are insulting his approach because he is Hispanic then you must be a classic racist. Switch doctors as you don't deserve a professional of this caliber. I'm sure you'll hate the next one too. Keep in mind, patients talk to other patients and I have yet to hear a legitimate negative comment. I highly recommend dr Rubero .

I went to my first visit with Dr. Rubero. I do have medical issues. I have high pressure, chronic broncitis, liver problems because of HepC and two slipped discs in ny back that have been black and blue for two and a half years because of the last VA person that I had to see. All he did was tell jokes, he never checked my heart, my lungs, or my blood pressure. He did not check the bruises on my spine. I told him that I had what I think is a hernia and went to lift my shirt. and he said no that he could see it through my shirt. He gave me no exam at all for anything, all he did was make jokes. He looked at my med records, and he said that I should not be taking a couple of things so he discontinued them. Then he next gave me the worse medicine for my liver. I guess it's easier to get a medical license in Porto Rico than it is in the USA.
