Dr. Hoche is a Wonderful person as well as a Fabulous "NEUROLOGIST. I STARTED SEEING HIM MANY YEARS AGO THEN I MOVED TO FT. MYERS FL. , I DID TRAVEL FOR MONTHS TO SEE HIM UNTIL MY MOM GOT ILL AND I COULDN'T. TRAVEL ANYMORE. I MOVED back to BROWARD COUNTY RECENTLY THIS YEAR and back to Dr. Hoche I went to before any other Doctor. I was misdiagnosed by a Neurologist in Lehigh Acres Fl. With MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS AND DR. HOCHE WENT OVER ALL TESTS AND FILE AND CONCLUDED TO ME I DO NOT IN ANY WAY HAVE OR SHOW SIGNS OF MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS. I WAS DIAGNOSED MANY YEARS AGO IN MY EARLY 20'S BY DR. HOCHE WITH FIBROMYALGIA..WHICH MIMICS M.S. BUT I DON'T HAVE M.S. IT'S 100% FIBROMYALGIA. MY TESTS CONCLUDES NEGATIVE TO M.S. AS WELL AND I WAS PUT THROUGH HORROR OF M.S. MEDS. AS WELL AS SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS FROM THESE MEDICATIONS. I ADORE DR. HOCHE AND IF YOU WANT THE BEST OF ALL OF NEUROLOGISTS I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR. HOCHE. HE IS THOROUGH AND TAKES TIME WITH EACH PATIENT HE HAS. YES, YOU MUST HAVE… PATIENCE TO SEE HIM BECAUSE HE IS VERY BUSY AND TRULY CARES ABOUT HIS PATIENTS.. I KNOW AND I AM SORRY I WASN'T ABLE TO GET MY MOM TO HIM DUE TO DEMENTIA BECAUSE I KNOW HE COULD OF PROLONGED HER LIFE. THE DOCTOR WHO MISDIAGNOSED ME DID NOTHING TO HELP MY MOM BUT THAT DOCTOR IN LEHIGH LET HER DIE AND DID NOTHING TO SAVE HER..AND MOM WAS MY WORLD BUT DR. HOCHE I KNOW . IN MY HEART AND SOUL COULD OF HAD HER LIVE LONGER WITH ME. AS FOR ME..HE HAS DONE ALL GREAT TO KEEP MY NEUROLOGICAL ISSUES UNDER CONTROL AND NOW MY BETTER HALF SEES HIM AND THINKS HE'S A GREAT DOCTOR AS WELL. MY BETTER HALF HAS NO PATIENCE BUT HE WAITS TO SEE DR. HOCHE BECAUSE HE KNOWS HE'S A WONDERFUL AND GREAT CARING NEUROLOGIST. IM PROUD TO PUT THIS REVIEW UP FOR DR. HOCHE BECAUSE I LOVE HIM..HE SAVED MY LIFE WHEN I WAS IN MY EARLY 30'S AND I'M GOING TO TELL YOU DR. HOCHE DESERVES MORE THAN 5 STAR'S AND FOR THE RATINGS HE HAS I DISAGREE BECAUSE THERE IS NO DOCTOR OUT THERE LIKE THIS MAN. IF YOU WANT A GREAT DOCTOR WHO CAN SAVE YOUR LIFE..DR. HOCHE IS WORTH THE WAIT. ALSO..HIS MEDICAL TECHNICIAN WHO DOES THE EEG..AND TESTS IS SUCH A SWEETIE..I LOVE HER TOO. Dr. Hoche is friendly & appropriate, but does not respect the patients time. We waited for 2 hours to be seen. It’s upsetting to have to sit in the office for so long especially during COVID. The office staff does not even give an explanation as to why such a long wait. Everyone is very flippant & do not show any compassion towards their patients. I am a health care professional & this attitude would not be tolerated in my hospital.

Dr. Hoche and his staff are amazing! After having brain surgery and suffering with migraines, Dr. Hoche was the only physician that was able to help ease my symptoms. He is a physician that listens to his patient's concerns and tries very hard to find a solution. I am happy that I was referred to Dr. Hoche.

In early 2004 I awoke with double vision. I immediately made an appointment with my then ophthalmologist who was concerned with my symptoms, as a 54 y/o male, with sudden onset of diplopia. He was concerned it may have been a stroke in evolution. I was sent to Bascolm Palmer Eye Institute for a thorough evaluation. My results were negative for any organic issues. Still I had the double vision. My ophthalmologist suggested I see Dr. Hoche, as he had more experience with my symptoms. Upon seeing Dr. Hoche after a 2 month wait, I was kind of in disbelief when he asked to see my drivers license. He held a mirror up and asked me to look at my photo. My right eyelid drooped quite a bit but not enough to block my vision. He smiled and stated, you have myasthenia. Now having been in the medical field most of my life I was blown away with pictures of me in a wheelchair. He assured me that it was limited to the ocular component and was treatable. I was placed on high doses of prednisone and… within 3 weeks my vision normalized. I tapered the dose several times until reaching a minimum to abate the diplopia. I still have periods of double vision but with Dr. Hoche’s caring treatment plans, I can expect resolution in a reasonable time frame. I have to wait in the office like everyone else, but isn’t being healthy worth a little inconvenience? Dr. Hoche is a gentleman and a scholar, and his staff is caring and professional. Now, it’s 2019 and I still rely on his expertise.

I saw Dr. Hoche several years ago when he diagnosed me with pseudo dementia with an element of depression. He prescribed Provigil and said I needed a sleep study and an MRI scan of the brain. The real diagnosis was an occluded left subclavian artery with steal syndrome--that means my subclavian artery was blocked and my body had developed veins to my brain and every time I moved my left arm, my brain was drained of blood which causes many problems. Luckily I found a doctor that got me on the right treatment--I had bypass surgery of the subclavian artery and all of the symptoms are gone. The surgeon stated that all of the physical complaints I had were typical of my true condition. I never waited less than 3 hours for any of my visits. On one visit my file was left in the examining room with me for over an hour. Wouldn't you pick it up and read it? I did. My history and his notes had several errors. I had personal knowledge of some of the tests he said he gave me… because, as a psychologist who worked in a neuro ward, I administered some of the tests to patients. His was not open to any discussion. That was my last visit with him. Luckily I found someone who would listen to me and take me seriously. If you don't feel comfortable with any doctor, find someone with whom you do feel comfortable. Your insurance company can assist you.

Staff is very rude and disinterested in patients. Will never wait again 3-3 1/2 hours for my appt. Dr prescribed way too many Scrips. I already have a new Dr with very considerate staff
