Julia L. Sun, MD

Dr. Julia Sun is a rheumatologist who earned her medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine. She completed her residency at the University of Chicago in 2019, followed by a fellowship in rheumatology at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University in 2021. With a decade of clinical experience, Dr. Sun focuses on diagnosing and treating autoimmune and inflammatory conditions that affect the joints, muscles, and connective tissues.

Dr. Sun practices at The University of Chicago Medicine and sees patients in Lake Forest and Glenview, Illinois. She treats patients with ankylosing spondylitis, a form of arthritis that primarily affects the spine, as well as polymyositis and dermatomyositis, which are muscle inflammation conditions. Her approach includes physical therapy and strength training to help patients maintain mobility and function. Dr. Sun also utilizes immunology testing to better understand each patient's specific condition and develop personalized treatment plans.
