Dr. Julie Lynn Davis-Best, MD

Today was my 3rd visit to Dr.Best. I had reservations from the previous 2 visits due to her abrasive and inconsistent behavior but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. Today was one of the absolute worst experiences of my life let alone with a Dr. While I was waiting to be seen, I heard Dr. Best get on a phone call in the hallway right outside the room I was in. For the next 30 minutes, I listened to her scream and yell at the person on the phone and after she hung up she walked up and down the hallway screaming the F word at least 10 times and saying how “dumb” that person was. I opened the door and told her I did not want to be seen as I was very upset, and she came right into the room and started to fake cry and apologize asking if “she can do anything to fix this”. I could not even look at her I was so disgusted with her unprofessional behavior and I told her I was leaving. Instead of her leaving the room, she called her assistant in to speak with me. I told her to get out so I… could gather my things and leave. I then walked through the office and out the front door only to be confronted by the assistant and Dr. Best outside where she was still trying to defend her behavior and apologize. I told her that I would never speak to my friends, employees or family the way I heard her speaking to the person on the phone in front of employees and patients and I would never come back to see her in the future. My recommendation is for Dr. Best to seek mental help and all patients to stay far far away from her.

Let's face it, a visit to any doctor, especially the OBGYN is not something any of us look forward to. It's often uncomfortable and you dread the waiting and the going here and there for blood, ultrasounds, or whatever afterwards. Additionally, I switched OBGYN's this past year because my original doctor moved his practice out of state. I found Dr. Best through a co-worker and so glad I did! I'm an educator and I had made my appointment very late in the game and tried to get in during our fall break. Typically most doc offices are overfull and they can't get you in. Dr. Best's nurse, Dolly, was so great and they knew I was short on time and got me in to help me out. Thank You, Ladies! Upon arrival, Dr Best's office is conjoined with a Family Practice (SCORE!) and I thought that was a nice combo since I was looking for a family/general practitioner too. The practice is located in a office suites style so they are connected to other professional offices. It is a little hidden but… wasn't hard to find. Inside, both practices offer comfortable seating and a Tuscan-Like ambiance (my thoughts). I signed in and didn't have to wait long before being called in. Nurse Dolly and Dr. Best are the only folks on the OBGYN side and there were three exam rooms. I understand the rooms are currently being updated so I have no doubt it will offer a cozy feel as well. Since I hadn't met Dr Best before, I only had a couple of heads up that she's a straight shooter and to the point. I'm totally okay with that because I don't want to be there longer than I have to - getting a woman's exam was not a bucket list item to savor. Nurse Dolly got me all settled in and asked me to change. I get changed and wait for a few minutes before Dr Best comes in, shakes my hand and explains what she's going to do. She asks you the typical questions but I do appreciate that she was taking a lot of notes herself and not Nurse Dolly. This is comforting to me that the doctor takes their own notes additional to the nurse in case any one misses anything. Any who, we get to the "fun" stuff (not fun for me) and it was over quickly. Afterwards, I let her know what was done before and not done and she asked me to complete a couple more tasks at the blood lab and some diagnostic tests. All in all, she actually did more than what my previous OBGYN typically does but I'm glad because she had never met me and wants to see where I am at, currently with everything and not go off a chart. Remember when I mentioned Dr Best is a straight shooter and to the point, the appointment was just that. She didn't have any sugar coating or fluff for my wellness, you should not hope for that. I want to know all my functions are in-fact supposed to function that way. I read reviews where people said she wasn't "warm and fuzzy". She is warm and she cares; it is just displayed very differently to those who are maybe more sensitive or expecting an array of emotions and soft-talk. Overall, she is great at what she does and she cares about her role as your doctor and being professional. Dr Best and Nurse Dolly are quite efficient for being a "two-gal band"! Thanks Dr Best and Nurse Dolly; see you when I see you in a year! TH.

Saw her for uterine tumor. Ultrasound is of very poor quality. Shape texture and size unidentifiable. She said nothing to worry about. Did pap and pelvic and other tests sent to lab. She coded visit completely wrong, insurance didn't cover so I had to spend HOURS AND HOURS WITH HER OFC AND LAB to recode and resubmit to ins. Co. In the meantime Dr Best quit or was fired, the lab put me in collections that is Sonora Quest eventhough they knew the issue. Now practice is closed, no letter, no clue where my records are. Oh, and she prescribed estrogen which you never should do with a uterine tumor. And the pain of the tumor is now substantially worse and I have other side effects from it.Suffering in Chandler...

Dr. Davis-Best took over the practice of the OB/GYN I had been seeing for a few years. I was nervous to have my doctor changing mid pregnancy , especially since I have some less common medical issues. Dr. Davis-Best read up on my condition and was also on top of unrelated problems that came up. She was careful with my care and looked into possible reasons for what was happening, even beyond just pregnancy related causes. When we finally figured out what was going on she was quick to act. She showed up during my induction to break my water and then came back a few short hours later, in the middle of the night, quickly enough to deliver my baby. If I decide to have any more children I wouldn't hesitate to have her be my doctor again. I found her personality to be friendly and open and felt that she listened to me and took an active role in my care. Don't tell anyone, but I think I preferred her to my original doctor!

After moving from the east coast I was nervous about finding a doctor. Trusting her during my high risk pregnancy was a great decision. Dr. Best guided me through preeclampsia, delivery, and my postpartum period. She is a great doctor and I’d recommend her without a doubt.

I saw her twice. Doesn't listen to info provided fully, doesn't explain her choices or answers questions clearly. Scheduled a wrong date test and then has no explanation on how she omitted critical information provided to her earlier, claiming twice that I didn't inform her (but I did) and then she finds it in her notes and still no apology and calls the patient "stubborn & ask too many questions" etc. Matches the issues listed in CO Med Board sanction in 2013 on not informing patients fully and doing hysterectomies unnecessarily.

Extremely personable, caring, concerned, and warm-hearted doctor. She was very thorough with her examination and explained things well. I would recommend her to any of my friends.

This Doctor cares about her patients. She listens and gets the job done. She is straight to the point and cares about your health, most importantly. I highly recommend Dr. Davis Best because I trust her.

I just found out Dr. Julie Davis-Best is no longer with CSHP. Iâ??m sad; she has been my doctor since 2005 when she started with CSHP. Just as her name says, she is the best. Iâ??ve been through a lot with her. I had pre-cervical cancer that she caught and diagnosed before it became a real issue. She has removed my cervices, tied my tubes, lifted my bladder, removed a tumor, and preformed a hysterectomy. For the hysterectomy she had to cut me open and work through a lot of belly fat. (I felt sorry for her and lost 60 pounds, just in case she had to go back in later and remove my ovaries)The stiches were perfect and you can hardly see the scar now. Yes she is fast in her exams; but, really who wants it to take forever. She has a great sense of humor and always took the time to explain things to me. I hope she is still in Colorado Springs. I'm looking for her and that's when I saw the poor review results and had to set the record straight.
