Dr. Julie Renee Favia, MD

I’ve been seeing Dr. Favia for fifteen years. When she left Mercy I went on a mission to find her. When Dr. Favia enters the room she first sits down and asks how you are and what is new in your life. She always takes the time to listen. I’ve had major surgery with Dr. Favia and came through great! She does well with little problems as well as big problems you are having.

I was with her for 4 years and after having 2 terrible deliveries with her, I made the switch. She lies to you about diagnoses, she's always on "trips/vacations", with my second pregnancy... Half the time she would walk in the office with her dates/weeks all messed up. I was 20 weeks and she thought I was 12 weeks, really?!? How hard is it to read who you're seeing next and how far along they are?! Even staff at her previous location said she wasn't the best Dr and she always ran away from work. I wouldn't recommend her unfortunately. Learned the hard way that she wasn't a good Dr.

On Friday I called the doctors office because I am pregnant with my first child and I was having nose bleeds and some chest issues. One office (crystal lake) apparently doesnt know she is on vacation (2nd vacation and I didn't know either) They said they will page the on-call doctor. 45 minutes later, no one called back. So I called again and they said she hadn't been paged by their office and transferred me. Then another woman picks and says she will page the doctor and verifies my phone number. Another hour passed and nothing. So then I call again and I am put on hold with numerous people who keep blaming the other office and by now it has been over 2 hours. One lady says "why don't you just go to the ER if you are so concerned" I honestly just wanted to know if I should be concerned. The staff was rude and passed me around like I didnt matter. Then after I let the supervising nurse know how upset I was (crying by now) Dr. Favia calls me the next day. She tells me she wants to go… over my test results and that she called in a script and called me with the results days ago. She blatantly lied to me. She never called. My pharmacy never got anything from her office. Then a few minutes after the call, my pharmacy does call me and say my script is being processed. Instead of admitting that you just left your patient hanging with an infection WHILE she is pregnant or apologizing for anything, you instead lie and say you called. She is impossible to get on the phone BTW. I shouldn't have to cry to get you to care. She advertises that she works out of crystal lake but you will have to go to Woodstock to tell them about family history (apparently Dr. Favia cant do that in her office) and you will have to drive to Des Plaines to another doctor you don't know for your ultrasounds. There is no communication and while her bedside manner was fine, she just doesn't care about her patients and instead of apologizing, she passes blame to her staff and to her patient's cell phone service. It was one of the worst experiences I have ever had and I really suggest you find a doctor that cares.

My refills never get sent to my pharmacy correctly, and then I'm calling back and forth between the two to eventually get my prescriptions filled. Staff is very rude after I call back saying that the refill was wrong. Dr. Favia is a great doctor, but because of my headaches I've had with simple refills, I'm switching doctors in hopes of improvement.

The best OB-GYN around, wouldn't trust anyone else.

I called to make an appt with Dr. Favia and even though my insurance's web portal shows her as accepting my plan, I was drilled for some number from my insurance card that didn't exist. When I said I didn't know what the receptionist wanted, that I just had a group number and member ID, I was told, " Well, there are 2 other doctors here who take your insurance." (So the admin knew that, but not if Dr Favia would?) Then she tried to push me to see one of the "new" docs, who are nonexistant online, while not answering my question about if Dr. Favia was taking new patients... in the end I called my insurance company to ask for this magic number the doctor's office had wanted, and they said they had never heard of such a number. I don't know about Dr. F, but her office staff is a joke.

Dr. Favia is an amazing Dr, I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone. She definitely knows what she's doing, she cares about your concerns GENUINELY, and gets back to you with any questions right away--doesn't wait a week to get back to you like some. I'm so glad I found her!! Thank you Dr. Favia, you're the best :)

Dr. Favia is the best doctor I have ever worked with - She is kind and polite - she actually listens when you speak to her! Regardless of how busy she is - She has never made me feel like she is rushing me (which is a HUGE problem with most doctors). You can tell that Dr. Favia wants to help her patients and make sure that you feel informed and educated before you leave. I truly have only great things to say about her.
