Dr. Julie Miye Kuniyoshi, MD

I have been coming to this practice for many years. Definitely has a personality. That is more mellow but she is a very competent doctor, and it has been in the community for a long time, so she’s not shy to get your referral to one of the butter specialist in the area, if you need one. It is a bit of a bummer to only be able to use cash or check to pay your co-pay, but I understand that this is also business, and with the shrinking reimbursement rates to providers by insurance company, she’s probably trying to be efficient with her costs. I thought her to be an excellent partner in my healthcare, and some of my friends friends have been referred also have had good experiences. She takes a respectable amount of time for each appointment and usually I can get an appointment within a day or so. If urgent.

She is rather cold, lacking in inter personal skill and it was annoying that the practice accepts only cash or check. I was willing to over look all that but the straw on the camel’s back was when I went in for a physical and I asked a simple question she said make another appointment to answer that. I had another question which was basically a yes or no answer and she actually rolled her eyes. I think that was very unprofessional. That practice is always empty and that maybe why she wanted me to come again. Only good is you can get immediate appointments- well no wonder!

Dr Kuniyoshi may be good at what she does, but I find that she is a very cold person, with no interpersonal skills, not a physician that would make the patient feel comfortable. I was there for a physical. When she called me in, there was no greeting or friendly small talk to establish a comfortable connection. She just mechanically went through the various tests. When I asked about two tests that my previous doctor always performed in my physical, she got defensive and quoted some medical journal that the tests were not necessary. The oddest part was that they only accept cash for the co-pay. That was my first and only visit.

She's very judgemental and seems to decide what's wrong with you before you give her all your info. She's very dismissive of your concerns and ignores symptoms to fit what she thinks you have. Also never gave a definitive answer about issues I had. Won't be going back.

Dr Kuniyoshi has been my Zinternist over ten years. She is kind, a good listener, thorough and a good diagnostician.

Dr. Kuniyoshi is an excellent doctor. It is a kind and compassionate doctor.

She was condescending, had not support staff, and you could see her practice is financially strapped. She tried to sell us on the fact that she could help us with all of our health issues. Right -- we just wanted to get a checkup, and since we were healthy (no issues, thankfully), she was looking for another way...anyway to make money off us. Do you ever feel depressed? What??? We wanted our blood pressure checked and a physical exam is all. Lame...many, many better doctors out there.

Had one appointment and will never return. This unfriendly, cold, judgmental doctor failed to treat me for my anxiety and acted like I was an addict for requesting tried and true anxiety medication that is widely used and effective. Perhaps a little more education is in order so she can understand this common problem. She totally lacks empathy and has no people skills. Time for her to get off her high horse. Stay away from this rude, condescending, poorly trained "doctor".

If you want to get ripped off for no reason, then consider this doc. Find somebody else who is more courteous and not intended to just make money from your insurance.

attentive, thorough, looks you in the eye. Have sent two friends to her and they have been pleased, Dr. K actually noticed an enlarged thyroid as she spoke to my friend, before "laying on of hands." I would highly recommend.
