Dr. Julie Marie Stee Seel, PhD

Dr Seel is one of the most affective therapists I’ve ever seen. She’s incredibly smart and gets to the issue quickly. She’s very funny while taking your problems seriously. I will always remember her advice- “what’s now and what’s next” to keep you focused on the present and move you forward.

There are some great doctors in the world of psychiatry. Then, there are some doctors that truly make a name for themselves and are recognized as tops in their field. But even more remarkable than that is that there are some doctors that are generational, meaning there are a few of them that come along once in a generation. If you want a word to describe Dr. Seel, that is what I would call her, generational . If you listed everything you could ever want in a therapist, you would be thinking about Julie Seel; but then you'd also be adding on other phenomenal things about her care that you were originally even interested in, or had never thought about yourself. The proof is in the pudding as they say. Talk to any of her present or past patients and every single one of them will tell you how much their life has improved by being under Dr. Seel's care. I can promise you one thing, you will never find another doctor that is so concerned about the well being of those under her care.… I personally have seen greater improvement in myself in the last year with her, than I ever did in the 20+ years of therapy that I have participated in. Others do this because it's their job, Julie does it because it's her passion. If you want someone that will spend their free time thinking about you, checking up on you, and putting together a game plan to get you better, than you are looking for Dr. Seel.

Dr. Seel is intuitive and intelligent, but (perhaps more importantly) down to earth. A lot of therapists can spend time identifying the "root" of problems -- Dr. Seel knows how to provide practical advice. She is "no nonsense" in the best way -- she is relatable and compassionate; she knows how to motivate you to work towards the life that you want and make real changes. I've seen several other therapists who have helped identify my "problems," but Dr. Seel is the only one who has actually helped me start loving my life and myself. She's smart, she's loyal and she's a true advocate for her patients. Can't recommend her highly enough.

I worked with Dr. Seel for a number of years to help me overcome issues with motivation and anxiety. She was extremely helpful in my progression and I now have completed and received a college degree thanks to her. She has been amazing and I think she is a fantastic therapist.

I sought Dr. Seel's help in dealing with interpersonal problems with my adult daughter. I found her use and explanation of CBT (Cognative Behavioral Therepy) to be of immense value in dealing with management of my own thoughts and behavior.; but of even more significance to me was her spot-on analysis of the other side of this most important relationship in my life. These explanations greatly contributed to a more balanced and less angst-ridden emotional life for me. I'm very grateful to her for help in this matter and am attempting to extrapolate what I've learned to other areas of my life.

Effective is the first word that comes to mind about Julie (I've been seeing her for about 18 months). After two visits she identified a couple of "how I think" issues that allowed me to almost immediately turn around some issues that were causing me some pretty weighty depression. I didn't think that was possible. The confidence from those bit, short term improvements generated a lot of inspiration in me to deal with longer term issues. She has a wide of variety of tools she brings to the table, an infectious "can do" attitude, pretty amazing intellect, and a deep desire to help folks. I have seen a number of good therapists over the years, as others in my family have. Julie is simply a cut above them. I've recommended her to several friends, and they're all thrilled with their results, even one who has proven pretty "therapy resistant" with other therapists.
