Dr. Julio Bracero-Rodriguez, MD

Dr. Julio Bracero-Rodriguez (or \"Dr. J\" as he is called at work) is a board-eligible pediatrician with national and international level experience in advocacy, international health, and medical education projects. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, he completed medical school and pediatric residency in the city of Ponce, Puerto Rico. During his medical and pediatric training he was extensively involved in national level projects in the American Medical Student Association (AMSA) and the America Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).

His professional interests include practicing culturally effective medicine, emphasizing prevention and health literacy with his patients, and exploring the interplay between poverty, health disparities, and infectious diseases. He is \"high-tech\" but considers himself \"old school\" as well. He will navigate with you, in the office, the website you got that information from, email you a website with better health information, and teach you where to find reliable …health information. He will not dismiss that \"on and off\" rash that parents think is a dangerous drug allergy, but also ask of them to take pictures/video when it occurs and to contact him immediately prior to switching antibiotic unnecessarily.

Dr. Bracero-Rodriguez is currently a general pediatrician at the Pediatric Clinic of Mesquite and takes great pleasure in playing and learning from \"the little people\" at home (his 3 small children!) and at work.
