Dr. Justin Daniel Terrell, MD

The best doctor I’ve had and I feel very lucky to be his patient—intelligent and listens carefully to help solve your problems. I owe him a lot.

Dr. Terrell is very in-experienced, with poor bedside manners, and a huge ego. He reads the nurses notes, then comes in to tell the patient what medicine he is going to prescribe or change. Appears to have no interest in talking with the patient or listening to the patient concerns or questions. The sad part of this is he started out talking with his patients and setting goals with the patient. 2 or 3 years later he only seems interested in prescribing a new medicine and scheduling a new appointment. He is no longer appears interested in goals. I do believe Dr. Terrell is an intelligent young man with potential. If he looses he ego, learns some bedside manners and remembers his patients are humans with intellectual ability, not cattle he is herding through a veterinarian practice he will be a good doctor someday.

Dr. Terrell takes the time to listen. Often he will have an insightful possible diagnosis or treatment in mind (starting with natural cures we can do ourselves, in my experience); if he does not have an answer, he will look up answers and share the results with you. He then explains his thoughts in detail - with illustrations if needed - until you understand what he is describing. He appreciates any information you share with him, about your past experiences with illnesses or treatments, and about what you are doing to try to heal yourself. He is currently at Columbia Family Medical Group, where the staff is courteous, but also sometimes acts as a firewall between you and your doctor; they have standard answers such as, "Oh, you'll have to make an appointment to see the doctor before you can get a refill," even when your doctor has already approved refills. This is just one example, but I've experienced it on multiple occasions, including with other doctors in this group. Now that… I'm on to this practice, I run interference for my mother when they do this.

I was pleased to find such an Open Minded, Competent, "Not a Huge Ego" doctor. We can talk, and transfer info both ways. Would definitely recommend to friends.
