Dr. Jyotsna Vincent, MD

My Mom had a hard fall back in March '25 and severely injured her right shoulder. She was seen in the ER at UCSF and was released with a suggested MRI by the nursing staff. My Mom had a follow-up visit with her PCP but since he went on vacation; Dr. Jyotsna Vincent was covering for him. She saw my Mom for less than 20 minutes (I was present during the appointment); had her do a few arm exercises and concluded it was not necessary for my Mom to get a MRI. Fast forward to August '25 (5 months later going on 6 months), my Mom's shoulder pain has not improved. My Mom reached out to her PCP and asked for another MRI. Her PCP ordered the MRI and the report stated she had a muscle tear at her right shoulder combined with inflammation as well as fluid build-up. Had Dr. Vincent taken the time to examine my Mom in detail and ordered the MRI back in March, my Mom would not have to go through 5 months of shoulder pain. As a result, my Mom is now waiting for an approved referral from the orthopedic… surgeon to determine whether or not surgery is necessary or she would have to take steroid injections combined with physical therapy. We are now dealing with this 5 months later when we could have dealt with this 5 months earlier all due to Dr. Vincent's carelessness. I was recently informed that she no longer works at UCSF and has moved to the East Coast. Whoever is reading this review, she is a cautionary tale and I would not recommend anyone to be her patient or be under her care.

This was her last visit with me as she is leaving end of month. Otherwise I would gladly recommend her to others. I am sad to see her go as she was always caring and current about my health.

Dr. Vincent is clearly very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. However, her attentiveness wasn't as expected. I understand that she was squeezing me in because I was late but the appointment was rushed. As a new patient of hers I didn't feel like there was a sense of connection. Again, I appreciate her level of expertise but the comfort in knowing that I made the best decision to choose her as my primary care physician is questionable. Hopefully, the next visit will be better.
