Dr. Kareem George Sobky

Dr. Sobkey is an extremely skilled orthopedic surgeon. He repaired both of my shoulders over a 10 year period. He is an attentive listener and responds to all questions. Most importantly his ability as a diagnostician and superb surgeon has allowed me to resume all activities without pain.

Simple three month follow-up after hip replacement. No compassion for patients that have severe anxiety and white coat syndrome after numerous surgeries. The exam room was very hot and I was having a hard time. I told his assistant I wasn’t feeling well and if she could just see me quickly so I could leave. She said she would but was tied up with another patient. Which I can understand . After 45 minutes I decided I couldn’t take the anxiety anymore and got up to leave. He called from the hallway and said I could come in now and I simply said OK and started to walk in and said 45 minutes is a long time to wait. He said then just leave. Just like that. No courtesy no compassion just leave. So I did. The rest of his team is fantastic. In any other business the simple courtesy of saying I apologize for the wait come on in..... Science has proven that compassion and a supportive doctor helps healing exponentially. You won’t get this from Dr. Sobky it’s all about himself and his ego. … I hope this review helps prospective future patients to consider that though he has a good surgeon..... his ego may be bigger than his humanity.

Dr. Sobky while affiliated with Kaiser was AMAZING!! Both my husband and I had shoulder surgery and Dr. Sobky was informative, caring and always had time for our questions. We miss him and sure wish he was back at Kaiser!!!

Any problems after surgery are ignored and I can’t get a call back. My PT called to explain my poor recovery symptoms and still no call back to get me an emergency appointment. Total knee replacement an epic FAIL. I do not trust this outfit and caution you to go elsewhere

Dr Sobky gave me my arms back. He replaced a bad prothesis on the right with a reverse joint, and found a rare scapula fracture on the left that had been missed for over 9 months. Now I can get both arms over my head again
