Dr. Karen Parker Anderson, MD

I spent six months in sessions with Dr. Parker and it was the worst counseling I’ve received in the 16years I’ve been going to therapy. I tried very hard to stay persistent thinking “maybe it was just a bad session today and the next would be better.” but I said that after every appointment. She downplayed my disabilities, justified the circumstances in which my sexual assault took place, and justified domestic abuse towards men. I was provided little to no resources, coping mechanisms, or general guidance. I felt like I was chatting with someone in the elevator- she hardly asked me any questions and left the entire session up to me, the person seeking help. I thought therapists were supposed to provide guidance, resources, and ask questions that make you think- I did not experience any of that with Dr. Parker. If you’re someone who struggles with addiction, a survivor of sexual assault, domestic violence, or have disabilities I do not recommend seeking out her services.

Great psychotheraphist. Very compassionate and attentive. She is patient- doesn't rush you out of the office.

I visited with her back in 2010-2012 and she truly was someone I needed at the time. Very understanding and worth writing a great review for.
