Dr. Karen Thrasher Rader, MD

Karen is a wonderful person and a great doctor. But what good is a doctor who you can't see. She is so busy and you can't get an appointment with her for months. I don't mind seeing a nurse practitioner but there is always someone different so there is no follow through. The last two times my asthma acting up I just went to an urgent care center. I had a very good experience there! Better than at Dr. Rader's office. Again, it's not her.....it's the whole Covenant system and the dysfunction of the office. If you leave a message you never get called back. I had one person tell me that Dr. Rader never returns phone calls. She doesn't talk to patients on the phone! I asked her when I did see her and she said that's not true. No one cares about their job in that practice! Unfortunately I ended up in the emergency room last night and I was told to see my doctor in 3-5 days. I call and was told I couldn't see her for a month. They offered another nurse practitioner (someone new… to the practice) and I said no thank you. Time to switch doctors. Retire Karen.....before you totally ruin your reputation. You don't deserve what is being said about you. And I can tell you it isn't only me. I know someone else who you see who feels the same way.

Dr. Karen is a very conscientious concerned doctor. She takes good care of her patience.

Dr. Karen has been my primary care doctor for 20 years. I can’t praise her enough. I think I would be “traumatized” if she moved or retired!

Excellent attention and care for 20 years now

I've gone to Dr. Rader for over 20 years. I used to love going to see her and always rated her 5 stars. Things have changed. First she started using electronic medical records. She now spends more time looking at the computer than the patient. Then she hired a scribe to chart for her. This didn't help. It just brought a stranger into the room. She still spends most of her time looking at the computer and talking to the scribe. Next she sold her practice to Covenant. Now things are horrible. Covenant replaced the licensed nurses with unlicensed medical assistants. The medical assistants do not know what they are doing. The office is more focused on collecting data for the government than they are on providing quality patient care. I don't think Dr. Rader is happy either.

Karen is the most caring doctor I've ever seen. She is thorough, extremely knowledgeable and will do every thing in her ability to help her patient . She is truly one of the best that Knoxville has to offer!

Karen has seen me for about 20 years. She always takes time to thoroughly understand what is going on in your life and lifestyle that may be influencing your health. I trust her thoroughly. I you don't like Karen you won't like any doctor.
