Dr. Karen A Voegtle, MD

GYN visits are rarely comfortable, but Dr Voegtle has a "bedside" (hmm, chairside?) manner that would put even the most anxious at ease: good-humored, kind, personable, humble, and down to earth too, topped off with a gentle mannerism. She's thorough and decisive, and when possible looks at spcimens under her own scope, leading to immediate treatment without having to wait for a lab result. I am confident in her care.

As with any new doctor, I didn't know what to expect. I needed a follow up on abnormal pap results. I was so pleasantly surprised! She did a colposcopy that was actually less uncomfortable than a Pap smear (She said there's no reason to use bigger instruments if not necessary, why is that attitude not the norm...). There seems to be a lot of horror stories in women's health, and with a background in women's studies, I know there is a long history of misogyny within the medical field as well (as well as currently- no birth control rx, anyone?). Not here- she is very respectful and responsive to your concerns. I would say if you want a doctor who relies on experience and patient needs, and who doesn't do uneccessary tests or procedures, go to her. I am seeing her specifically for gynecology. Patients who like doctors who go strictly by the book and not necessarily tailor treatment to a patient's needs, and who pursue possible unneccesary tests, procedures, etc (I know some people who… prefer doctors like that), might not like her as much. As for me, I found her funny, very easy to talk to, and supportive. I mentioned what a great experience I had to a young woman in the elevator as we were leaving, she said she sees another dr there who she is thrilled about as well. I texted my friends who are looking for a gynecologist her name when I left. My first appt was cancelled due a patient emergency, which was mildly annoying, but I would want the same done for me (who wouldn't?). I got in the following week. Very happy I found her!

I have been seeing Dr. V for about 7 years now and feel so lucky to have found her back in 2008. She delivered 2 of my kids and with both pregnancies, really took the time to listen to me and make me comfortable. She's a great doctor!

I used to think Dr. Voegtle was the best doc. I have been seeing her several years. I started avoiding the St. Lukes office because her nurse is so rude there and now there is staff at Winghaven office that lacks customer service ability. Dr. Voegtle doesn't seem so show the vested time interest anymore. Looking to move on

I began seeing Dr. Voegtle as soon as I got pregnant with my daughter. I had a very, very stressful pregnancy and she visited me everyday I was in the hospital. My daughter has a lot of issues and with having four kids of her own, she is a wealth of knowledge. I won't see any other OB!

Dr. Voegtle is a very thoughtful doctor. She is easy to talk to and always makes me feel comfortable. I've been seeing her for 4 years now wouldn't dream of going to anyone else.

She used to be a fantastic doctor but lately (2011-2012), every time I go to see her she seems hurried, doesn't care about what is going on with me, and rushes me in and out. Everything I tell her, she rolls her eyes and acts like "its her way or no way"!

I have been going to Dr Voegtle for around 14years. I couldn"t ask for a better person. She cares about her patients. I will never go to anyone else. SHe has helped me over the years battling with HPV, and has delivered my child into the world.

I've been seeing Dr. Voegtle for about 3 years. She's great! I have 2 children and a busy schedule, but I never have to worry about sitting in her office waiting for hours, like I have with previous doctors. I'm always in and out within 30 minutes, which is very convenient! Plus, She makes me feel comfortable and answers all of my questions!
