Dr. Karol Basel, PsyD

Karol Basel is a reckless, unsafe driver who almost ran me, a bicyclist, off the road on November 29th on North Cactus Boulevard (Bike Boulevard). I heard furious honking behind me and turned to see a car tailgating me dangerously close to my left side within an arm's length. At first I wondered if it was someone who knew me but why they would get so close was crazy. The car followed me, honking its horn and finally cut me off, turning into the Tamarisk complex. I followed them to find out what the problem was. She said I was riding in the middle of the road which was not true. I was biking in the designated bike line away from the cars parked on North Cactus Road. And even if I were biking in the middle of the road, why a driver would then tailgate, honking furiously at a cyclist instead of just driving around them or waiting 10 seconds for them to pass is beyond me. Cyclists have the right of way along this road. We exchanged words about the incident and it was clear that she… did not care at all that she had practically run me off the road. I took pictures of her and her car which were later identified by her complex as Karol Basel. A police report has been filed with the city of Tucson. However, I also want to bring the matter to the public's attention as this behavior is reckless and dangerous. If Karol Basel doesn't give a damn whether she runs someone off the road, you want to trust her with your mental health? I think not!
