Dr. Karol Lanette Bowens, MD

I only seen Dr. Karol Bowen’s once because the women that the front desk called to cancel my appointment on two separate occasions. I made arrangements for those appointments and for her to just cancel is unprofessional. Speaking of unprofessional, the women at the front desk think they are doctors and often have attitudes. Also, they only take cash and wish they would of mentioned that before arriving. I changed my gynecologist because they are so unprofessional that I would have to be crazy to trust them with my health.

all my visits were ok not excellent, the bad thing about it was she seems to be in a rush all the time. when i was pregnant they made me go through a test twice because the girls there sent me somewhere they thought my insurance was accepted only to find out it wasnt after the test had been done, i came out of there with my arms all bruised because of the many blood draws they performed. after i delivered my baby she had to stitch me up i kept telling her it really hurt if she could atleast numb the area and she just kept getting mad and had an attitude when i would move scoffing off every once in a while. she should be more attentive and courtious or just leave her practice and retire.

I am shocked to discover this doctor so dismissive, condescending and rude with her patients (her sources of income). I thought it was just with us nurses. I am an OB nurse and this doctor is an affiliate at the medical center I work at. She always appears to have a chip on her shoulder, probably stemming from a pseudo-superiority complex (masked insecurity). The nurses find her attitude puzzling and humorous, but itâ??s very disappointing to know she treats her patients this way. Please do everyone a favor and leave the profession that is obviously making you very unhappy.

She being the only OB in my network I am going to have to switch to a male doctor. Dr. Bowens is the worse doctor I have ever had. She is rude and doesn't ask if you have any questions or concerns about your pregnancy. She has a very bad attitude if you ask her a question. She needs to get her licensed suspended until she knows how to treat people with respect!

All I have to say is if you plan to have her as an OB make sure your deliverying in the morning. Nurses mentioned she rarely does deliveries in nights especially weekends. Really upsetting the worst part she didn't even put the order for my epidural.

I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR. BOWENS, SHE IS VERY COMPETENT AND COMPASSIONATE. THE SERVICE IS GREAT, FROM THE DOCTOR AND THE STAFF.

I was initially excited to have Dr. Bowen help me with my problem. I believe she may have been able to figure out what is going on but she unfortunately didn't share any of this information with me. Instead she did a test (she never said which one) and tried to tell me to stay on birth control (a solution to my problem) as she walked out of the office. When I inquired about switching to a form I preferred more she, speaking to me from the hallway, acted insulted that I'd even ask. I can tell she had a plan and was trying to be helpful in some ways, but I left her office feeling degraded and as if she didn't understand my problem. I didn't know her plan to have confidence it would solve my problem.She's the third doctor I've seen this month and is supposed to be the most qualified to help me. However, she seemed unapproachable and in a rush to get on to the next patient. Feeling desperate for a resolution, I went to the emergency room. I spent 10 hours (and who knows how much I'll be… billed for) to speak with a doctor who explained the rationale behind her plan and how to proceed if my condition worsened. This was Dr. Bowen's responsibility. I should not have had to chase her down the hallway to get a question in, and I should not have had to figure out her plan anywhere but in her office. She is smart and her plan may work. However, I needed a few more minutes of her time and a lot less of her condescending attitude.

Very nice, but don't know if just being sarcastic. Doesn't answer my questions and even made me feel uncomfortable to ask more.. treats patients her own race a lot nicer than others. I wait 40 mins to see her and she spends no more than 2 with me.. do not recommend

This OB/GYN has very poor bedside manners, during all of my appointments, she rushes in and rushes out of the exam room, without discussing any lab results, any progress of the pregnancy and does not adress any of my concerns at all. I had to chase her down the hall to ask her the only question I had and to obtain lab results that she never bothered to give me. This is my first pregnancy and by her being my OB has made by experience really frustrating. I will switch to a different doctor, someone who at least has some manners and shows a little bit of care in patients, not one like this that only wants to get a paycheck. I also work in the healthcare field, and let me tell you that she can do A LOT better!! Knowledge is not all, she has to develop a sense of care. If she has treated me like this during all of my appointments, she must be treating all the patients in the same manner that don't know any better. Really, even during my first OB appt, she spend like 5 minutes… (literally)...
