Dr. Katherine L. Dean, MD

She would not try to figure out the cause of my pain for three years. She basically told me it was normal to be in excruciating pain more often than not and to have stabbing pain and bleeding with intercourse. I switched Drs after three years and my new doctor found endometriosis by laproscopy within one month of my first appointment with him. Dr. Dean's lack of bedside manner, general rudeness and obvious lack of concern for her patients is appalling. I'm so glad I switched doctors and wish I had done so much, much sooner.

I have never had such a horrible pap smear experience in my life until I saw this doctor. She is horrid. She is careless and has a horrible bedside manner. I don't want to call her racist, but she close to it.

I liked Dr. Dean as a regular gynecologist. Seeing her once a year, she seemed friendly enough and to the point. She also encouraged me to get pregnant soon, which I really liked because I was dying to have a baby. Once I did get pregnant, the experience was all down hill from there. I had a heart condition when I was born and my husband had a rare genetic disease that only his uncle and cousins contracted, but once I reminded her about that it was doom and gloom from there. Of course, sadly enough it did end badly with the pregnancy being a partial molar one. She would not clarify what this condition was, and I seriously had no idea there was anything out of the ordinary wrong until I came back for my appointment after the D & C. She threw out words like "cancer" and "chemo" and seriously warned me against getting pregnant any time soon. However, she would not explain anything beyond that, so I went home and researched things online. I was seriously freaked out, and she did nothing to… help alleviate my anxiety. I decided to switch doctors in the middle of my weekly blood checks, because I just couldn't deal with her attitude and lack of communication any longer.

Dr. Dean has cared for me throughout both of my high risk pregnancies. With years of dealing w/ endometriosis and multiple surgeries I have seen my fair share of physicians. Dr. Dean is simply the best of the best. She comes across as a bit stern and perhaps intimidating at first but if you give her a chance you will see she just takes her job and your health very seriously. She tells you like it is and I like that in a person, especially a dr. I was put in the hospital with both pregnancies (different hospitals then the one she works at) and she still managed to see me daily, usually multiple times. She knew I was scared and only trusted her so she insured me she would be there to deliver my son when the time came and informed the nursing staff to bypass the on call dr and to just call her. With a scary delivery and all the risks involved I would have been a basket case without Dr. Dean being there. I trusted she would not let anything happen to me or my son(s) and knowing she… was going to be the one to deliver put my mind to ease. I could go on and on about all of the amazing things she has done for us but that would be a novel. Simply put, she's a God-send and a remarkable doctor.

Dr. Dean has been my doctor for about 10 years. She is very kind and thorough. She is very soft-spoken so don't expect someone who is going to chit-chat with you alot. She often calls me personally with test results, even if they are positive. She is proactive about my health, considering my family history. I know someone who was in medical school with her and she was top of her class so she is very bright. I've already had my children but I would have been very comfortable having her deliver my baby.

I had bad experience with this doctor. She is careless and racist . She prematurely gave birth to my baby to go on vacation .she did not treat me with a human being .
