Dr. Katherine Dale Genther, MD

Absolutely wonderful doctor! Title My son had been treated by two other psychiatrists for anxiety and depression. They were both competent, caring people but he didn't seem to be getting better. Then my wife and I heard about Dr. Genther from a friend whose child, they said, had achieved tremendous improvement under her care. So we asked if she would take on our son as a patient. and she said yes. That was only three months ago, and his improvement since then has been considerable -- in the reduced frequency and severity of his bad moods, his ability to sleep well without nightmares, and the over Dr. Genther has a great style and personality that immediately earned my son's trust. In addition to her formidable knowledge of psychiatry, she also has a deep knowledge of medicine and has successfully "tweaked" my son's medication with great effect. I am happy to recommend Dr. Genther without reservation.

Dr. Genther is one of the best psychiatrists i have ever had the pleasure to meet. She is compassionate, intelligent, kind, and takes the time to really listen and hear me. The meds she has prescribed me have improved my mood and overall quality of life. I was irritable, miserable, and hated my day to day lifestyle. Today I am a much more positive person and can see the beauty in life. She has been my doctor for years and I plan to continue as her patient for many more. Thank you Dr. Genther for all that you do!

I was a patient of Dr. Genther's for about 18 months. I was desperate for a new doctor because mine stopped practicing. She is a kind person and responsive to emergencies, however, very expensive for what you get. She is more "old school" psychiatrist - which I actually admire. She spends more time than most psychiatrists with patients, which is uncommon but since I have an established relationship with a therapist, I felt obligated to share more than was necessary and things often went off topic. Because of this, I rarely left feeling good and often felt I had overpaid for something that I didn't really need (all I really needed was medication). I signed the paperwork for her to request my records, however, she never did request them - partly, I believe because she doesn't have a fax machine. She kept telling me to get them (which I cannot because of HIPPA laws). I am very sensitive to medications and have complicating health issues, so it was REALLY important for her to have my… records. At one point, I contacted her off hours because I was having what I thought were side effects from the medication. She told me to stop taking ALL of my medicines immediately and go to the hospital because I could be having a heart attack. When I expressed concern over this approach (stopping all my medications), I was told that I would be in the hospital anyway, so I would be safe. In over 20 years of being on meds, I have NEVER had any doctor tell me to stop taking ALL my meds. At that point, I decided it was time to find someone else. If you have never had a psychiatrist and need someone to also counsel with you, she might be a good choice, but it just didn't work out well for me.

I don't know where I would be without her help.

I am so pleased that Dr. Genther has been helping me become me again.

She made me feel at ease and helped me heal. My quality of life has improved with her help. I appreciate her holistic approach and perspective.

Wonderful person and excellent doctor. Meds she prescribed working very well. She helped me with grief and the anxiety of my new life as a widow. She has turned around my life to one of joy and excitement. Look forward to my appointments.

I have been a Pt of Dr. Genther for over a year now. There are not enough nice things I could say about her. Without a doubt she goes beyond just being a Doctor. You know from the time you walk in the door till the time you walk out that you are not only getting her full attention, but that she cares about you and your success.
