Dr. Katherine Skaggs, DO

I saw her for severe back pain and asked to get an MRI because my chiropractor suspected a bulging disc. She instead sent me for x-rays stating that I had likely some arthritis and was experiencing a muscle spasm. The x-ray report did not show anything. I called her office twice more requesting to get an MRI. I explained that I have a high $3000 deductible on my insurance and that I would be paying for the MRI, not my insurance. According to her office staff she disagreed with my chiropractor on the budging disc and would not provide an order for an MRI. I was not to be able to walk without the use of crutches for a couple days, it continued to plague me with severe pain. I should have been able to get the MRI within my insurance network so it would have at least applied to my deductible, but the MRI options within my insurance network did not recognize a chiropractor's order. I had to pay out of pocket for an out-of-network MRI which confirmed a budging disc. Would not recommend her.
