Dr. Kathleen D Coutinho, MD

Her patient went without being diagnosed with preeclampsia. Friends and family told her to discuss with doctor. She was 28 weeks and went into labor. Hours after having the baby the patient passed away. Baby is happy and healthy over a year old.

At age 47 I was experiencing heavy bleeding, my family doc sent me to her to have endometrial ablation. Instead of doing this very common procedure, she prescribed birth control pills. I ended up having a blood clot & had a life changing stroke. I thought it was very irresponsible of her to blindly prescribe birth control pills. Both of my parents had had strokes & I learned later that birth control pills cause blood clots. I wouldn't take my dog to her.

I was having contractions since 11pm at night but at first it didn’t start out as consistent contractions, but then they started to become 2-3 mins apart. She happen to be the ob on call. I told her what was going on and she rudely said well go to the hospital, I asked her for maybe tips to tell if it was Braxton hicks, and she said well is it hard to breath, I said no it’s uncomfortable, she rudely replied if you can breath threw it, don’t come in. She should not be a doctor! Mind you I’m supposed to be having a repeat csection, and I’d rather a nurse do it then her! I DON’T RECOMMEND HER AT ALL!

on the first visit, the Dr. was 'short' in her time with me. "Just business". However, the second trip (one year later) she was definitely more interested in me as a patient. We all have days where we are 'short' with others, and I chalk the first visit up to her simply being extremely busy...or having a crappy day. Glad I have her!

I had a total abd hysterectomy per this dr. She was AMAZING!! I felt so comfortable with her. She took time to answer any questions I had. She was kind and considerate. I left the hospital the next morning with an insison that only looked like a scratch. I took nothing more than Tylenol and motrin from recovery on. No post op problems at all. I was on my feet quick and back to work in 2 weeks. She called my home herself after a couple of days being home to do a condition check and to let me know pathology. I can't say enough good things about this doctor!

I will not be returning to see Dr.Coutinho, I felt as if I was just another dollar she wanted us in and out. There was no ultrasound at my first 12 week appointment and wouldn't be one until 18-20 weeks even though I told her I had some concerns. I would not recommend her to anyone!

I am currently seeing Dr.Coutinho. I have always been able to get an appointment when needed but sometimes I feel that she doesn't take my concerns seriously, as if I'm making things up. She doesn't like to induce so if you don't want to wait 42 weeks, then try a different doctor. I understand she does this because it's what's best for my baby since I've had no complications, It's just frustrating being pregnant that long. My boyfriend is in college and his spring break was this week and I am 40 weeks and I made it known that since we live an hour away and his spring break was this week and I will have no other help for the days following birth and he cannot miss exams, that I wanted to be induced but she basically ignored this request and just laughed it off. She is a great doctor but she will only do what she feels is best and you can't request other things be done. If you do, they'll only be done if she feels necessary. She does however answer any questions I have and has always… been friendly, she just has an awkward personality making her come across as hateful sometimes.

We have had a great experience with Dr. Cutinho and her staff. She is straight forward, no nonsense, and never made us wait more than 30 minutes. We just delivered our little girl, and I was SO glad Cutinho was on call. I like that she takes a natural approach ( no inducing unless necessary), and her staff in the office and in the delivery room were all so supportive. We love dr. Cutinho and wild recommend her to anyone!

My experience with this doctor was very unsatisfactory. I had never had seen a gynecologist before and I was already very uneasy and nervous about the exam. I do not feel like my concerns were addressed and I will be seeing another doctor soon. She made me feel like my concerns were not legitimate and I did not feel comfortable with the exam either. She didn't do anything to help ease my concerns or nervousness and when the exam was over she said she didn't find anything then walked out without even telling me if I could leave or talking to me about my concerns. I would not recommend her to anyone else and I am very upset that my first exam was with her. It was a very bad experience, I have never had a doctor treat me in this manner.
