Dr. Kathleen Lynn Kornafel, MD

Worse person every. Do not go with her. I was with her for 1.5 years for gynecology/obstetrics and infertility. The office is all over the place. did not give me price for infertility that she was pushing me to do. did not want to know the cause or figure out the cause of the infertility. Plus it was all over the place with no clear communication. Today i visited her for gynecology annual exam; i explained to her due to financing HRD pasadena offered; i went with them but i wanted to use her as gynecologist; she told me im not their lacky or intern go find another gynecologist; she would do my pap smear but after that to find someone else. She is all about profit to get you to go with her IVF clinic. This was worst experience i have ever had with a doctor of any kind. I told her due to her raising her voice, her body language towards me and her attitude i rather just leave the office; she told me get out. Worse person on earth only for profit.

I was a patient of Dr. Kathleen Kornafel because I had a yeast infection. She did a lab test, then prescribed an anti-fungal pill (Fluconzole). The pill did not work, so I went back for another visit. She did another test and said she would call me. She left me a voicemail and said that she found out what the problem was. She asked if I had any allergies. I returned her call and told her that I was allergic to penicillin. She said that's ok, she would prescribe me something else that will work well. I was waiting for a week for her to call back, until I finally had to call her again. Her nurse told me that she might have forgotten to prescribe me the medicine but she is not available the next 2 weeks and will get back to me. When the doctor finally got back to me, she prescribed me the exact same medicine that she had tested did not work on me! I went to the Minute Clinic inside CVS and they suggested an over the counter remedy and I got better in 2 days. So she… negligently prescribed the same medicine, overbilled me and made me suffer through the entire process. It feels like she was just trying to prescribe drugs for the sake of prescribing them when it was not necessary at all.

She is a very rude doctor! She will run tests on you that your insurance does not cover, then you'll get a big bill in the mail later.

I'm currently a patient of Dr. Kornafel's now. I think she is very honest and direct. I've always found her and her staff to be very responsive. I would say, the whole process can be confusing and maybe having some reading materials would be helpful. I know it's ultimately my responsibility to ask questions and research the accurate way to adminster injections, etc. but it would be helpful. I do think her office is very busy (owing perhaps to her success?) and at times I do feel like they may be over extended. But, I'm sticking with her b/c I appreciate her honesty; rather that than hand-holding and making me feel better. I like her staff too.

I first went to Dr. Kornafel in 2003 to seek help in having a child. Me and my husband did one cycle of clomid and insemination and had our first son in 2004!!!! First try!!!!Then we decided we wanted another baby but because we had switched insurance Dr. Kornafel was not in our medical group, but we decided to pay for it out of pocket because of the great experience and instant success from our first child. Same thing- on the first cycle of clomid and insemination we were expecting baby #2!!!!!!!Now again we have decided to have another baby and no questions asked, we went to Dr. Kornafel!!!!! We have hit jackpot again!!! FIrst cycle of clomid and insemination and we are now expecting our 3rd child!!!!We have a BEAUTIFUL family with the help of Dr. Kornafel and I would recommend her to anyone...I drive 30 miles and we pay out of pocket for Dr. Kornafel because we trust her, she has an amazing staff, she makes me feel very comfortable, and proof is in my 2 amazing boys with a baby on… the way-Children are such a blessing and for some it does not come easy. We were very lucky that with all three of our chlldren (one in the oven) we were successful on our first try!!!! Now if she only did pediatrics!!!!

I've been going to Dr. Kornafel for some time now. In the beginning it took a little time for her to warm up to me but now she is great. She answers my questions, calls me personally if blood test results are particularly good or particularly bad. I find that she does a good job explaining why she's not putting me on a particular medication and explains exactly why I don't need it. I find that she really cares about my situation and really does want for me and my husband what we want for ourselves.

Dr. Kornafel is the best doctor I have ever been to. She is extremely knowledgeable and always spends extra time answering any questions I might have. I have had nothing but positive experiences with her and the entire staff. Highly recommended.

I really do not recommend this doctor. She has a lot to learn about how to treat her patients. I know a few people have given her stellar results with their fertility but my experience was horrible. My husband took unpaid time off of work to go to an important appointment with me for an ultrasound. We waited almost and hour only to be told the nurse practitioner would do the ultra sound instead. I told them my husband took unpaid time off specifically to meet the doctor that was going to help us. So she came in and was in a bad mood. Her staff was apathetic, lazy and had an attitude problem. The office was old, dirty, dark and depressing. Surprisingly she shares the office with another part-time OB who is wonderful, but who does not do fertility. Please skip going to this doctor no matter what

My appointment with Dr. Kornafel was one of the worst experiences of my life. There's a not-so-fine line between being direct and being flat out rude, and apparently neither Kornafel nor her staf know where that is. I met with her once for 15 minutes after waiting well after my scheduled appointment time passed, barely held her attention (she took another call during our short time) and even when she was looking at me, she didn't seem to listen to a thing I had to say. I cancelled my follow up (which I felt pressured to schedule) and am glad I did. However, I just received a statement from my insurance saying they won't cover the charge for the visit as it was, as Dr. Kornafel's office apparently submitted, "expense in connection with infertility AFTER diagnosis has been determined". What a scam - 15 minutes and she's claiming she's successfully diagnosed me with no testing at all. For those women suffering from infertility, there are so many doctors out there that I can't imagine you… could find bedside manner worse than hers. Kornafel seems more interested in "diagnosing" and getting her money rather than listening to the specific concerns a patient presents, which is a real shame considering the emotional turmoil that already comes with this sensitive issue.For those women suffering from fertility issues,

Dr. Kornafel herself is a little abrupt, but seems to know what she is doing. However, her office staff is not good. When you arrive for an appt., someone may or may not be at the desk to ck you in. Wait times are very long and the office itself needs a cleaning.
