Dr. Kathleen Sue Sheehan, MD

Shameful and dismissive professional arrogance, dare I say perhaps, hostility toward this former patient? I will not ever know. Still others should know my experience. This long time, mental health provider, denied seeing me, twice, after I showed up at my scheduled appointment, only then for Sheehan’s staff to cancel, right there, claiming there was an “insurance issue” and that the doctor “would see me at at a different office.” Made appointment at the then, other location, and was again, denied seeing the doctor. This woman, my “mental health” provider, finally called me at end of business day, saying she could “no longer see me.” No further explanation. She gave me obligatory state required referrals. . As a longtime client, (patient does not seem appropriate l, somehow) and she had been paid in full during my year long absence. No personal closing for me. I wanted to return and was not offered any excuse, merely precursory response all docs may fall back on in order… to lose it “dump” a patient. I felt tremendous shame, deep hurt, experienced terrible and lingering psychological issues of abandonment. I wish her peace and hope no future client endures such lack of professional caring. Particularly, being in her field of practice. ??

Dr Sheehan saved my life and explained to me how I was not to blame for all the negative that I had experienced in my life. Dr Sheehan taught me so much about mental health I could probably test out and get a masters degree in interpersonal studies..ie a counseler myself. Though mental health problems will never go away, being educated and correct medications to assist in the control of these problems, there is no miracle cure, but you can learn enough and have access to a great Dr, then the chances to have a better life is very possible and even with 5 disorders and multiple hospitalizations, I have managed to marry and find a level of live ability I never thought would be available. I am completely mentally disabled and on SSD, but alive with a better life than I had thought possible, due to Dr Sheehan's refusal to give up on a very complex troubled intelligent miserable person. I have 5 textbook mood disorders. Without Dr Sheehan I would probably be dead, in prison,… institutionalized, or living I der a cardboard box u der a bridge.

Dr. was rude, abrupt, abraisive, uncaring and dismissive. Would definately not recommend her.

More concerned about taxpayer than whats best for her patient. Lacks caring and compassion

Words cant express the unprofessional-ism of this woman. First she ABRUPTLY took me off of medication without consulting with me first (which had devastating side effects) Then when speaking with her about it over the phone she proceeded to have an attitude about the situation even though i was calm, and was VERY rude and even tried to put me at fault that I "lost" the prescription. A good Dr. does not get nasty on the phone nor does a GOOD Dr. deny all responsibility when the patient has proof, but lies about the scenario. She should have review information proving the prescription was never filled let along prescribed and fixed the issue at hand instead of getting defensive. In her profession it is so very inappropriate to abruptly take someone off of medication as just about everything they proscribe has side effects. Oh and best part is she does not see people at their scheduled time, I quote "it is your responsibility to make time" so be sure to get there early and have time to be… seen much later then your appointment time. -One upset patient that will never be going to this lousy Dr. again.
