Dr. Kathryn Anne Sanford, MD

I went to her with abnormal symptoms and she would continually dismiss them and do nothing about it. I ended up switching physicians and they immediately identified my problem (which needed surgical intervention)and it was finally addressed. As a physician, she displayed lack of patience and inability to listen.

I had my first child while under Dr. Sanford's care. My experience during visits was ok until the end of my pregnancy. She then became more irritated and impatient with me. She stretched my cervix withou asking me first and I realized later that she probably did this to encourage the baby to be born on the upcoming weekend because she was the doctor working. Cervix stretching is quite painful and should have been explained to me before she did it. During my labor she rushed me to deliver and threatened me with a c-section or vacuum assisted birth. She ended up giving me pitocin and a 3rd degree episiotomy to speed my daughter's birth along. Afterwards her bedside manner was still cold and all she said was to eat lots of fiber. No congratulations or happiness. I couldn't wait until she left the room. I could not empty my bladder for three days after birth and finally ended up going home with self catheterization kits. This problem was caused from the trauma of my labor and the… extreme episiotomy I received. She and another doctor from the practice kept ordering IV fluid for me, but all that did was fill me up with fluid and compound my problem. At one point Dr. Reddy, the other doctor in the practice told me that if I didn't drink enough water she would just give me another IV. These doctors are very threatening and don't really care about their patients' feelings and wishes. Every exam I had from Dr. Sanford was painful too, which is totally representative of her care. If you plan to or are already seeing Dr. Sanford please go somewhere else.

I am a nurse and have been going to Dr. Sanford for almost 10 years. I have delivered 3 children with her and also had a surgery performed by her. She always takes time to ask me if I have questions and explain. She is very knowledgeable and has a great bedside manner. She is a great doctor and I would recommend anyone woman to her office!

Incredible experience delivering my third child (only child with Dr. Sanford). I originally was seen by another doc within this practice, but he seemed rushed and would spend about 5 min with me eventhough I had serious concerns seeing as my first two pregnancies were high-risk. I had to remind his nurse multiple time to schedule necessasry tests and follow-up on my questions. I saw Dr. Sanford as the on-call with placenta previa, and she was exceptional. She spent 45 minutes explaining all of the issues and was both supportive and professional. In addition, she followed the issues that I had regarding deteriorating platlet counts (which never seemed an issue for the other doc). She ran the issue by a few of her co-workers, and she made the decision to have the baby 3 wks early because of our safety. That decision saved our lives as my uterus was nearly ruptured at birth. The C-sect the best of the three and her care continues to impress. Glad I had her! Highly recommend...
