Dr. Katia Emiko Taba, MD

I found her staff to be very polite and the wait times were very short. However, I did not have the same experience of some of the other reviewers with this Ophthalmologist. She seemed knowledgeable about my eye, however, I found her to be condescending and rude. She stepped over the boundary from constructive feedback to being insulting about aspects of my health and appearance that were completely unrelated to my visit with her. She even went as far to continue the criticisms within earshot of other patients. I understand the need for and appreciate clear and direct feedback but badgering and rudeness are unacceptable, especially when others are able to hear it. I understand that everyone has bad days but her behavior made me feel unwelcome in her practice. I will not be returning.

If you are considering Dr. Katia Taba of Personalized Retina Care of Naples, I would 100% endorse your decision. Dr. Taba is better than the best, she takes time with each patient, explains everything completely in terms you will understand, and prescribes the best approach to help you in having the best vision that is possible for you. She is a caring, sharing, patient, thoughtful, kind person that is fully interested in you as a patient. My wife has had many eye problems and surgeries and absolutely finds Dr. Taba to be the best of the best. In many other eye centers, you get the feeling that it is all about the money and not about the patient. We were so fortunate to find Dr. Taba, and you will feel the same way when you make the decision to have her as your doctor. Jim Zinger

I found Dr Taba and her staff to be very efficient and professional. I had no serious wait time at any of my appointments. Dr Taba even met me at her office on a Saturday afternoon. How many Drs would do that ?

I am extremely disturbed that Dr. Katia Taba is leaving the Sarasota Eye Institute as I had such confidence in her ability and my macular degeneration has vastly improved in the 8 months that she has been treating me. Not only is she very gentle, as well as personable, we have great rapport and she will be greatly missed. If only knew where she is going, I might follow her!!!
