Dr. Katie Herrel Garrelts, MD

I went for a routine Pap smear and a month later the office called to tell me it was abnormal and I needed a procedure. The procedure couldn't be scheduled for a month for some reason. The doctor did not call to tell me the results and I had to ask for a call back to answer my questions and concerns. No one knew when Dr. Garrelts would call back and we played phone tag in which she left a message saying she wasn't calling me back anymore. When I spoke with her, she was unable to answer my questions and was disinterested in the conversation. I called my previous gynecologist and spoke with that Dr. within an hour and had my procedure the next week. The procedure showed no issue as previously indicated by Dr. Garrelts.

Dr. Garrelts is thorough and easy to talk to. She makes everything about having a baby and being a female easier.

Dr. Garrelts help my husband and I during a difficult miscarriage. She was caring, compassionate, and skilled. She took good care of us, and was accessible throughout it all. I can't recommend her enough.

My experience is unique as I met with Dr. Garrelts because another doctor has left the practice and I was working with that doctor . . . Dr. Garrelts apologized for the wait and she was very attentive to me. She listened to all of my concerns and addressed them with her professional opinion. In addition she answered my questions about her experience specifically about her surgical experience. Dr. Garrelts also addressed her concerns as a surgeon and the risks with the surgery we are planning to do.Over all Dr. Gatteltz worked with me to come up with the best plan that she and I can both work with and think we both left feeling like we got what we wanted.I do recommend anyone in need of a gynecologist or obstetrician. She is thoughtful and attentive. She is also willing to work with her patients. Good luck to all who read . . .
