Dr. Keith L Hull Jr, MD

I like Dr. Hull's manners. He was very friendly and informative. During my visit, he asked me questions that on other doctor asked. He seemed concerned and I felt very comfortable talking to him.

He is wonderful and helps me so much!

Dr. Hull, although somewhat helpful, does not voluntarily share his patient notes with the patient. They have to be specifically requested and they often include recommendations not verbally conveyed to the patient. They are not available on the website in the patient's personal profile. Also he is quick to recommend expensive testing at the on-site testing facility, MRI, etc., even after the first tests revealed nothing significant. Thus, it makes you feel he is just driving up the revenues for Raleigh Nuerology rather than more quickly resolving the patients' issues.

My initial visit with Dr. Hull was after I had suffered a brain hemorrhage while living abroad. I returned to my home in Raleigh and literally did a random selection of Dr. Hull from the list of in-network providers my insurance plan provided. I found Dr. Hull to be thorough in his treatment and approachable in manner. He ordered a number of tests and scans and followed up with me when results were in. He addressed my fears and concerns in a professional and caring way, and he suggested assessment and follow up care with several other healthcare professionals in addition to himself. I recommend Dr. Hull to anyone suffering neurological issues.

I went to this doctor because an acquaintance had highly recommended him. My experience with him was truly terrible. I was very ill and he implied that my symptoms were just psychological in nature and he totally dismissed me. There was, in fact, a very real physical explanation for my symptoms. Upon obtaining my notes, I found that this physician had written very judgmental things about me. Because he could not diagnose my problem, he wanted to believe that I was crazy. This doctor is very cold, judgmental, dismissive, and has a huge ego. If you have an illness that is difficult to diagnose, be warned that this doctor might pull the "this is all in your head" card on you. I would like to spare another person the humiliation that I endured.

I started seeing Dr Hull in the mid 1980''s as a patient with MS symptoms. He immediately scheduled an MRI at Duke in their fairly new machine. After the test he was cautious to firmly diagnose but did lean that direction. He tried various treatments and meds to help keep me comfortable with my symptoms. A far cry more than any other doc had done for me. Dr Hull continued to treat me for around 20 years and I must attribute my current abilities to function to him. He was always helpful and willing to go to any length necessary to keep me functional. Bedside manner was always friendly and usually precise but he always gave me the final decisions about my treatment. He offered options and kept me advised of any new treatments or medicatiins that may be helpful, but always giving me the final decisions. I currently live too far away from Raleigh to visit the clinic and its too bad because I have yet to get comfortable wuth another neurologist as I was with him.

he comes highly recommended, was very hopeful despite numerous warnings of his terrible bedside manner. initial consult was done by a p.a. he based his dx off of this completely. disregarded my symptoms and abnormal MRI. unwilling to listen to and answer my questions. appeared annoyed when he asked if i had any questions, when i did he would respond 'it could be'. decided to treat his dx without being willing to acknowledge two abnormal brain scans that indicated M.S. very very frustrated. just AWFUL ability to relate to or be patient with the delicate nature of these visits and fears I have. would not recommend, especially to female patients
