Dr. Kelly Eileen Estes

I went to Dr. Estes after an acute sports injury. After reviewing my imaging results she sent me on my way with a diagnosis, a brace and crutches, and expectation of 6 weeks of recovery. Soon after I was referred to a surgeon by her without much detail as to why. The surgery and subsequent recovery will be a minimum of 3 months, with possible lot more long term recovery and work to get back to ‘normal.’ The communication at this first appointment with her led me to be unprepared and confused in subsequent follow up with the surgeon. She minimized the recovery and injury in a way that has affected my mental coping with the injury and delayed my recovery progress.

Dr. Estes went above and beyond when my insurance company and the hospitals billing department both had major mess ups. She spent significant time dedicated to speaking to the right people to resolve the clerical issues that I would have probably been unable to resolve myself. On top of that the care was great, she was the third doctor that I had been to for the same issue and the only one to get the diagnosis correct. 5 Stars, would give more if I could!

I went to Dr. Kelly Estes' office today and I left feeling worse than when I walked in. First she was so rude to my family and addressed them by saying "who are they?" are they family? I was taken back by that remark. She told my husband to move out of the chair that she needed to sit in. Second, she sat there and interrogated me about an old foot injury that I came in for that was causing me a lot of pain. She was firing questions away and was clearly not happy and not interested in my answers. My husband even chimed in and asked a question and she basically discounted him stating that the question was the other department's problem. I don't believe she knows how to read an X-Ray correctly. Her description was poor and demonstrated that she didn't feel that she needed to investigate the problem further. I would have been better off going to urgent care and dealing with the nice staff there. What it comes down to is she has a horrible bedside manner and does not care about her… patients. Having said that I will never be returning to that office not even for my follow-up visit at Washington University BJC Orthopedics in Chesterfield. It's unfortunate because her support staff is very nice. Kelly Estes just doesn't care.

Dr. Estes took her time listening and examining me. After xrays she showed me the images and explained more. I was very happy with her explanation and her recommendation for Physical Therapy

Dr Estes did not pay attention to the issue that my daughter was experiencing with her knee. She refused to see her again after her knee cap dislocated for the 3rd time. she continued to tell me that it was a bone bruise and to continue physical therapy. She did not want to investigate "why" her knee continued to dislocate. in addition her knee was so swollen that she could not do physical therapy. I had to call a different doctor to get the surgery she needed to repair her meniscus.
