Dr. Ken Ray Iwaoka, MD

I went to see Dr. Iwaoka when I was having severe throat pain on just one side, which was getting to the point where I was having difficulty breathing and sleeping. He told me I was overreacting and then proceeded to test many things that weren't related to my symptoms (mono test, strep test, air capacity test, flu test - which was quite clearly just done to charge my insurance) and told me everything came back negative and gave me a xanax prescription - telling me it was all in my head. The next morning I woke up almost unable to breathe and I was rushed to the ER where they found a severe infection on the back of one of my tonsils - which is actually fairly common and in line with my symptoms. The EMT at the hospital told me he was horrified a doctor didn't recognize this when I had come in the day prior. I would seek other medical help if you can - this provider seems narcissistic and quite frankly, uneducated.

Came here for my son's cough and this so-called doctor only checked him for exactly 5 mins and said to get some rest and water??? My son had been coughing with phleghm,dry heaving! What kind of doctor and urgent care does this????

I am Very very displeased with DR Ken Iwaoka's work and lack of knowledge or attention to what's going on. I brought my baby in because he had a bad accident (burn) on his hand. He was very nonchalant about it making jokes the whole time. He acted like it wasnt a big deal and sent us home with a band aid and said he will be fine. Not feeling comfortable with his attitude and overall medical analysis and advice, we took our baby for a 2nd opinion and thank god we did. His lack of medical knowledge could of led my baby to mucj worse including permanent damage. He has no business being a doctor based on our experience.

Went in for a possible broken wrist to get it X-rayed. Turned out to be a sprain. Did not show me the X-rays, and said the best way to treat me was with a tetanus shot...? I hit my wrist on a wooden cabinet. I did not break the skin nor come in contact with rusty metal. Even after this explanation and informed him my tetanus shots were up to date, he stood by his diagnosis of wanting to give me a tetanus shot even saying that it wouldn't help me with any tetanus infection now, it could only help me in the future. I declined the shot.
