Dr. Kenneth Paul Cheng, MD

I had surgery on my right eyelid when I was 3 years old. I am now 22. Well, it turns out I have 1-2mm of lagopthalamos that has been bothering me for 18.5 years. Because, and solely because of this man, I cannot sleep on my left side without my eye burning in the morning. I also have asymmetry due to my right eyelid literally not being able to close when I smile and look down at the same time. I do not recommend this man. Preschoolers shouldn’t have to be asked if they were in fire, and 12th graders shouldn’t be told their eye is terrible. Heres a picture of my right eye 7 years after surgery, when I was 10 years old.

Great doctor but horrible scheduling. Every time I go with my toddler we wait 1½ hours past the scheduled time to be seen!

My toddler and I waited over 2 hours in the waiting room for her appointment which ended up being only 5 minutes with Dr. Cheng. A friend of mine also warned me that she had waited over 2 hours to see him but I gave Dr. Cheng a chance and was surprisingly disappointed. Two hours in a full waiting room is a long time to wait but it is especially long for children. It is evident that the quality of care is lacking and the only thing this office deems as important is the number of patients they can see in a day. It was also interesting that their are no doors on any of the examining rooms. I was surprised since you can hear conversations the doctor is having with other patients in adjacent rooms. This did not particularly bother me but If someone does care about their information remaining private I would not recommend this office. I definitely think that I could have received better service somewhere else and will not be returning to this practice in the future.

Dr. Cheng seemed nice and friendly to start even though nothing was explained extremely well to us. We felt confident with his diagnosis even though we never got any paper work telling us more about my son's condition. Then a couple of weeks after wearing his glasses they were still blurry and so we got a second opinion. Dr. Cheng could not believe he was wrong and his "smarter and more important than anyone" attitude only got worse from there. I could go on but I won't. I will just be looking for another doctor for my son.

It was a long wait to see the doc. 60 minutes after my scheduled time, finally I was called by the nurse. The doctor doesn't know washing his hands befoer touching a new patient. this is unacceptable and unprofessonal.

The waiting room was nice and thank goodness they had a video playing because we waited for a long time. Dr. Cheng seemed rushed, he did not explain what he was doing, he was not very personable, and he was quick to say our son would need surgery again (we got a 2nd opinion - our son does not need surgery based on the same diagnosis Dr. Cheng came to). While I can appreciate the office staff making sure their policies were made clear, it was very off putting in the manner in which they were presented. Also, they charge extra to bill, so if you don't have the entire payment available when you go, be prepared to pay extra to have them bill you.

My daughter has been under his care since she was one week old. She had eye surgery when she was three weeks old. Dr. Cheng is an expert in his field and highly recommend him if someone has a child who is in need of an eye doctor!
