Dr. Kenneth Adam Levey

Positive reviews are fake. Should not be practicing medicine. Truly bizarre and erratic in his care and manner. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

I've been a patient of Dr. Levey's for six years now. He is an excellent surgeon and doctor, treats me with respect, trusts my knowledge of my body, and listens and responds to my questions and concerns so we can decide on my treatment together. He's a specialist in pelvic pain and endometriosis -- a rare one that takes insurance-- and knows what he's talking about. He is unwilling to let me stay in pain and is always looking for ways to tackle the complexities of my conditions--but *never* counsels surgery unless its absolutely necessary (rare with surgeons). If Dr. Levey says you need surgery, you do. He also (and importantly) isn't intimidated when I ask questions or challenge his thinking--he'll break it down and explain his approach. If I ask for something to be looked at, he looks. If I'm concerned about something, we discuss it. He responds very well to patients being active participants in their care. He has a frank and forward personality, and an good sense of humor if you… get to know him long enough, and deeply cares about his patients. I've met many doctors and surgeons who were overly nice and had sympathetic bedside manner, who ended up being awful at practicing medicine. Dr. Levey is straightforward, and takes your care extremely seriously. He's not only saved my reproductive organs (even in emergency surgery) multiple times, but has treated my close friends wonderfully too. He's truly an excellent surgeon, and the only one I will let operate on me for anything related to my GYN care. By the way: The Maiden Lane practice has excellent, caring front desk staff, who are wonderfully helpful and go above and beyond every time. I wish every medical practice I went to had women like these at the front!

I had an appointment for an exam relating to severe pelvic pain and bleeding. After being put into the exam room, I witnessed Dr. Levy berating a member of his staff. Then another female tried to intervene and he went ballistic. I have never witnessed such a loss of control in a Physicians office by a Doctor! I left. Dr. Levy needs professional help -- of the Mental kind.

The other reviews are correct. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I would never go to see this Doctor again. He said I was OK, and then he said i needed a full hysterectomy, which was NOT TRUE. His manner is terrible, bordering on the side of being rude. Didn't even put a lab coat on when he examined me.

Best doctor, I was so lucky to find him.

Dr. Levey is a highly skilled surgeon. He is one of a small amount of Gynecologists that perform complete excision surgery for endometriosis and he takes insurance! If you are looking for a BFF, or someone to hold you while you cry, you've come to the wrong place! That being said, he has always been compassionate towards me and I never got the feeling that he didn't care! Every time I sent an email with a question or concern I was answered by him in less than 24 hours! If you are need a doctor who has an extensive knowledge of pelvic pain, can make you feel physically better and improve your quality of life, then Dr. Levey is it! There is nothing shady about them taking your credit card since they've had mine for over 3 years now and never once charged it! I guess that's because I always paid my bill! Good luck even finding another Endometriosis surgeon that accepts insurance in the area! In the end, if you really need help, by leaving this practice, you are only doing yourself a… disservice.

This doctor is so bad I have no idea why the Medical Board has not gotten a hold of him yet. I'm in medicine myself and his care was beyond careless.

Nothing but the best for me. I filled out a lot of paperwork. When i was brought in to see him he was kind, caring and compassionate - he answered all of my questions. I was referred to him by my sister on whom he operated and she has been pain free since the surgery and other treatments he recommended. this was well worth the trip from LA!!!
