Dr. Kenneth Sobel

I am a long time patient of Dr. Sobel's and I can say without any hesitation, he is a great doctor. Yea, he is busy, often behind on his appointments and stays booked up but most of that is because he is such a good doctor and takes whatever time he needs with each patient. I used to get upset about the wait but over the years I have come to appreciate why he is always behind and with that in mind, it doesn't bother me. If you have a cold or something routine, he has great PAs that will can usually see you the same day but if you have chronic health issues, you won't find any better than Sobel.

When I arrived at the office, the receptionist was extremely friendly. I was only in the waiting room for a few minutes when they called me back to the exam room. After that, it all went downhill. After waiting in the exam room for 45 minutes, I went out to the nurse's station and asked about my wait time. The nurses did not seem at all surprised. They just shrugged their shoulders, told me it was going to be awhile longer, and asked if I wanted to reschedule. (I guess they didn't mind, they already had my copay.)I ended up waiting more than one hour to see Dr. Sobel. When he finally got into the exam room, he was friendly, but not at all apologetic about making me wait so long.He did spend time with me. And performed additional tests, because I was insistent that the original diagnosis didn't seem correct.After my appointment, I had a difficult time getting a referral to see a specialist. I had to leave more than one voice mail and call several times to be able to speak to their… "referral coordinator". The receptionist was very rude and short with me when I spoke to her about the difficulties I had had trying to reach this person. Overall, just not a good experience and won't be going back.

Sobel is overbooked and extremely hard to get into see. Does not return e-mails or phone calls. If you need to get in you see a PA, why do you pay doctor rates to see a person who is not qualified. It is frustrating.

Staff does not return calls. They lose paperwork or fill it out incorrectly. Took me off of anxiety meds abrubtly causing exaccerbation of condition. Cannot talk to doctors on telephone. Paper work errors. I have been attempting to get a correct attending physicians report for over 4 months. No one will call me back. Telephone system is automated and it is rare you can talk to a live person. Often fail to give patient lab results.

The practice does not have a human being answer the phone. It is automated and getting a call back is almost impossible.I had a CT done and didn't get the results for weeks. When I did get the results they did not give me the full report. I found out later through another doctor what the full report said and now I am having tests done. Dr.Sobel is flippant about issues that I think are potentially serious. I do not trust anything about this practice. There are too many patients and many mistakes. Now all appointments and lab results are given online. There is no personal attention. I would not recommend this practice.

Dr. Sobel is a very busy man. He sees many, many patients a day. His time is very well the most demanding of any doctor that I see, and I see many. He has helped me get through a difficult time. It is not easy to get an appointment. well, really you just have to call several months ahead. That is because he is so busy.
