Dr. Kent Paul Vanbuecken, MD

My husband underwent a left total knee replacement surgery performed by Dr. Vanbuecken in March 2023, and unfortunately, the outcome has been devastating. Since the date of surgery, my husband has suffered ongoing and severe complications. He has not been able to walk properly at any time since the procedure, and his left knee is not able to bent and continues to pop with movement, accompanied by constant pain and sharp shooting pain radiating throughout the entire leg. These symptoms have significantly affected his mobility, quality of life, and daily functioning. Of particular concern is the fact that no formal physical therapy was ordered or provided after the surgery. When we raised questions regarding postoperative rehabilitation, Dr. Vanbuecken advised that physical therapy was not necessary and stated that exercises at home would be sufficient. We relied on this medical advice in good faith, and we now deeply regret doing so. In our experience, this surgery has been a complete… failure, and we feel profoundly let down by the lack of proper postoperative care and medical responsibility. Based on what my husband has endured, I strongly urge others to exercise extreme caution and seek additional opinions before considering surgery with this doctor.

This guy should literally quit his job. He works at the VA in Martinsburg and nobody likes him. He does surgeries super slow and hes a just a prick. Lets not forget how imcompetent he is.

Dr Vanbueken, I'm sure you don't remember me but you replaced my knee six years ago. We chuckled over the fact you not sending me to physical therapy. You said you can save me time and money if I just did the exercises you gave me. I did and 100% healed. The other knee has finally caught up. Having difficulty walking. Can't seem to get much help from the Dr's Clinic in Silverdale, WA. Let me know if you're ever returning to the Pacific Northwest soon, I'll have a knee waiting on ya. If you're not heading back, any recommendations? P.S. I've completed many hikes on my replacement; from the Yellowstone, Rim to Rim at the Grand Canyon, Mt. St. helens and the latest, the cables of Half Dome at Yosemite Nat Park. Thanks for a job well done.

Didn't spend much time and I went to another doctor who diagnosed me properly.

Dr Vanbuecken did carpel tunnel surgery on both my hands at the Martinsburg VA Medical Center. In both cases, he was very informative, understanding, and did an excellent job. I had a "very fast" recovery time, and couldn't ask for a better doctor!

This doctor, if you could call him that, should not ever EVER be able to see patients in office, much less operate on them. I almost died on the operating table during a relatively simple procedure and had to be transported via helicopter to another facility. Thank God. After being in ICU at the other facility, Dr VanPuken not once got in contact with anyone at the hospital to let them know how to care for my foot while there. Never once contacted anyone if my family to see if I'd actually lived. Horrible doctor, horrible person. I would recommend anywhere but where he's 'practicing' medicine.

He fixed a my knee after I tore my Meniscus, Great explanation of everything, very polite, Caring, Gentle.

This doctor was the first person to accurately diagnose my illness. He was kind and polite and listened to me. The surgery also went well.
