Dr. Kristin Widick Smallwood, MD

Went to office to make appointment. Was told Doctor not accepting new patients. Have serious case of skin cancer. Was not given any advice on where to go next. Left in tears. No compassion.

I've been coming to see Dr. Smallwood since I was in high school, 20 years ago. I live in California now, but I still come back for any skincare issues because she is the best dermatologist I have found.

My family and I’ve been going to Dr Smallwood‘s office for many years. Dr Smallwood is the best dermatologist in Brevard County . Unfortunately her office staff or the lady who makes the appointments at the front desk is extremely rude short doesn’t give you a chance to even think to make an appointment. She makes you feel completely uncomfortable when trying to make an appointment and even checking in . At first I thought this was just that she was having a bad day but this is happened for many years now. One time I was trying to be courteous and just let them know I was going to be no more than 10 minutes late. She told me that that It would not be possible to be seen and I need to reschedule my appointment. I understand that it’s important to be on time for an appointment but sometimes there are some extenuating circumstances that would make one a few minutes late. I can understand being over 15 minutes or half hour late but just five or 10 minutes should be acceptable . … The office would be 100% perfect if it weren’t for the front office lady. It’s unfortunate because there are times that doctors don’t know that this is happening and if they did I’m sure theyvwould do something about it .

the office runs on time. The staff are polite. Dr. Smallwood has found several cancers on me and has taken excellent care. My friend who also goes to her, says she saved her life by finding a melanoma early.

I was a potential new patient who was referred to Dr Smallwood by an existing patiend. Regrettably, I will not be using Dr Smallwood's services, ever. Pat (who I assume is the receptionist) answered the phone when I called. I informed her that I was referred to Dr Smallwood by an existing patient, and she cut me off in the middle of my sentence indicating Dr Smallwood is not taking new patients. I informed her that my friend was told I was on the "waiting list", and asked her to confirm. She indicated the waiting list was "5 pages long and I don't have time to look to see if you're on it". I informed her she was being rude in her tone and attitude, yet, she again said that she didn't have time for it. What is it with the Dermatologist receptionists in this town? The one at my current dermatologist is also rude! I will not be seeing Dr Smallwood. Good luck if you call and Pat answers the phone.
