Dr. Kristopher Thomas Kimmell, MD

I have had good luck with Dr Kimmell he explained everything he spent time with me and he was not happy with the results of the placement of the probes he wanted to redo one side as it was not optimal, so he called it, I want someone that fixes it right over making it work. As for other comments he doesn't pay attention he spent just as much time as any surgeon does. as for arrogance I call it confidence I want someone with confidence poking around in my brain I like he is all business not touchy Feeley my opinion he has been a greet surgeon so far for me if it ever changes, I will report on that also

No bedside manner, giant ego, arrogant, ignores others’ fields of expertise and recommendations. He does not follow through when offering his time. He talks negatively about other patients with his patients. Always obtain a second opinion with his recommendations.

Short visit and not personable

Zero bedside manner and follow up.

My aunt has Stage 4 cancer. I am her medical proxy, and I have a background in molecular biology. I ask fair questions, which has helped us navigate this difficult process. Dr. Kimmell was not only reluctant to answer my questions, but he was terse, rude, and quick to leave the room, stating he had other patients to see. In addition, he wasn’t even sure if one of her tumors could be ablated - he needed to consult with the biotech manufacturer. The next day, he called my aunt, explained he could treat both tumors, and attempted to schedule her for surgery. Suffice to say, we got a second opinion at UR. Not only was the surgeon kind, patient, and well-experienced with the procedure we were discussing, but he recommended a conservative approach that seemed to make the most sense. The point here is that Dr. Kimmell should be avoided. He has been, by far, the worst doctor we’ve consulted through this entire process.
