Dr. Kurt Duane Bangerter, MD

I wouldn’t send anyone to him. I am a pain management Anesthesiologist who went with a friend who doesn’t understand complex medical care. We originally were trying to see Dr. Welling and were shuttled off to Dr Bangerter. The PA was personable and seemed competent. The plan for surgery seemed incomplete as explained by the PA. I had looked at the MRI prior to the appointment. I thought there were several issues needing attention, but the PA assured me that this was the best plan after consulting with the surgeon. The surgeon stepped into the room and spent less than 60 seconds with us. He repeated the plan for a discectomy, and said he would see the patient at surgery. In fact he never looked at me or gave me a chance to speak to him. The patient had a poor outcome-worse pain and function right after surgery and at 3 months post op. The patient reported the surgeon never came by after surgery and has never followed up. The pt called the office for help and was told to get an… MRI. No further contact. The pt is going else where. I hate to be critical, but as MD I would never treat a pt this way and and I am concerned about his thoroughness and judgement, because he left the pt in a worse condition and didn’t seem to care.
