Dr. Kyu Dong Ahn, MD

Outrageous, dismissive, rushed, and unprofessional experience. I gave this office more than one opportunity, and my experience only got worse. I first went in because my outer ear was visibly swollen, warm, puffy and inflamed. Dr. Ahn checked inside my ear, but my concern was the swollen outer ear. I did not feel that area was properly examined before he told me it was a cyst and prescribed an antibiotic. After completing the prescribed course, my ear was still warm and puffy. At my October 1 follow-up, I had to bring the ear problem up myself. When he finally addressed it, he pushed my head to the side with his index finger rather than carefully examining the swollen area. It was not gentle, and I found the way I was handled disrespectful. I was also concerned about his medication instructions. He told me to use the same strong topical steroid I had been using on my arms and chest on my ear, but his instructions were so vague that I was unclear whether he meant around or inside the… ear. A previous dermatologist had prescribed me a less-potent steroid for sensitive areas because of concerns about skin thinning. I expected clear instructions about where and how long to use a potent steroid. Communication was poor throughout my experience. At my first visit, neither the doctor nor front office adequately explained preparation for my lab work, including fasting. At my follow-up, I asked for a copy of my lab results. Dr. Ahn told me I was "young" and could obtain them myself through the laboratory's online portal. I am 53 years old. He eventually printed them. I found the exchange dismissive. A patient asking for a copy of his own test results should not be made to feel like he is inconveniencing the office. My experience with the front-office employee, Maria, was equally disappointing. I greeted her when I entered and was ignored. When I later criticized the service I had received, she told me she would call the police. I told her to go ahead because I was complaining about the service, not threatening anyone. The police were not called. Afterward, I read reviews from other patients describing feeling dismissed or not listened to. I wish I had read them first. I repeatedly felt rushed, dismissed and disrespected. Patients deserve careful examinations, clear medication instructions, answers to reasonable questions and basic respect. I will not be returning.

Terrible doctor who has no caring attitude, very routinely treat patients without listening symptoms, I don't want to see this doctor ever again

It took us a while to get to know and understand each other but once we did I knew I was in good hands. His office help is outstanding.
