Dr. K. Mireille Chae, MD

Dr Chae was very pleasant and kind. She diagnosed my problem and took care of what needed to be done.

Dr. Chae was a hour behind schedule to see my 3yr old, then spent 5min with us. It felt rushed and very uninformative in my opinion. She gave me papers to read up on the condition she diagnosed (rather than talking to me), which left me with more concerns and questions. She did not seem interested in taking time with my concerns nor with her assessment of my daughter's spots. When I suggested blood work to possibly get more answers, she said she is just a skin doctor, so that would be through our pediatrician. Skin conditions can be associated with other medical conditions, and as a medical doctor, I would think ordering blood work is within her scope of practice. This was my experience after being there the week prior with Beth, who spent more time with us gathering information and assessing my daughter's spots. She was thorough but honest and unsure of a diagnosis, which is why we were asked to come back with Dr. Chae. We were originally referred to Dr. Chae from our pediatricians… office in Appleton who also was unsure of a diagnosis (as it's not their specialty). I left the appointment with Dr. Chae feeling like alot of time was wasted and still not confident about what's going on with my daughter. Not worth a drive up from Appleton twice. I really wish there were other pediatric dermatologists near Appleton, so I could get a second opinion. I will add, the facility is nice and other staff was pleasant. Like I said, Beth was wonderful and despite not having an answer for us, spent time assessing and discussing concerns. Even after all the time she spent with us, she opted not to charge us, since we needed to come back. That says alot about her as a practitioner.

I recently saw Dr. Chae for an initial yearly skin check. Dr. Chae proved to be kind and informative. Previously I was diagnosed with a mild skin condition by another dermatologist. At the time, that doctor had prescribed an extremely expensive medication that was not covered by my medical carrier. Dr. Chae discussed my skin problem and even recommended over the counter drugs versus unnecessary expensive prescriptions that could be used to treat my skin problem. In addition as Dr. Chae completed by skin check, she discussed what she was looking for and what the different types of spots were and when I should become concerned and seek medical carrier. I can truly say that when I left the doctor's office, I felt cared for and so much smarter about my skin and what to watch for.

I decided to see her since she is Asian. All my doctors are Asian and I always feel comfortable to have an Asian doctors, probably I am Asian as well. I went to see her for my skin problem, not cosmetic procedure. As my experience of having Asian doctor, I was very shocked. She was not friendly at all. She didn't even greeting me, no smile. She seemed she doesn't care me at all. She asked me a couple of questions and gave me a cream to use. My appointment didn't take even 5 minutes. I was so very comfortable.The atmosphere she created didn't allow me to ask her any question or concern. If I do, she would look me down and would give me very annoying face, that is what I felt. Be aware, her picture is not showing her real personality. I learned racial differences don't matter, it is how much a doctor cares their patient.
