Dr. Ladan Hamdheydari, MD

I have had a wonderful experience working with Dr. Hamd. She has a very caring and calming presence and I always feel so comfortable talking with her. I have met with two other psychiatrists who I felt just pushed drugs on me without listening and was so happy to meet with a doctor who I felt really listened to me and considered the pros and cons of any prescription changes. She really gets to know your situation and what is going on in your life so she can help you find the best plan for you.

Dr. Hamdi was my psychiatrist for the past several years and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for care in the area! She is an incredibly understanding and kind caregiver and very accessible. Unfortunately, I had to find a new psychiatrist when I moved and I hope to find one as excellent as Dr. Hamdi!

Can never get a hold of. She never returns calls back I usually have to contact my therapist to contact her and totally dismiss my concerns about more gaining weight She told me to eat carrots. Really? Thanks for the tip. Never checks my iliium levels which are suppose to be checked every mouths I was told. It’s Been 10 months. I finally asked her to check. I should not have to ask her. I overall cannot give good review

There are not enough things that I can say about Dr. Hamd. I have gone to see her for the past 5 years and she has gone above and beyond to help me. She listens to my concerns and doesn’t dismiss your feelings. Not many doctors do what she has done and I will always be thankful to her.

Genuine psychiatric professional in the local area who is down-to-earth and easy to talk to about difficult issues. I have been going to her for 5+ years and never have had an issue with getting meds filled or scheduling an appointment.

I started seeing Dr. Hamd when she first opened her office in Shelton. I was actually shocked by the amount of time she gave me to talk. Medication management appointments are usually in and out. She gets to know not only you but the people affecting your life. She also helped me through multiple devestating events in my life. With her help, it was discovered through outside evaluation that I was misdiagnosed 20 years ago as bipolar 2 and she assisted me in decreasing the bipolar medications and introducing one for anxiety. I’ve had many providers that over medicate or undermedicate. She is open to discuss with you concerns and feedback of your care plan and not blindly prescribe medication to you. In a world of drug seekers and over prescribing, it was wonderful to find someone who listened to me and was willing to have open dialogue with me. Her practice is small with just her and her husband so there is no front office staff. People use to instant gratification might be upset by… having to wait for a call back or not being greeted as soon as they walk in. Either Dr. Hamd or Dr. Balan always know when someone is in their office. With insurance companies being the way they are today, billing and actually receiving payment for services isn’t a fast process. Many practitioners can not afford to have a private practice anymore which is why they join larger groups. I’m grateful Dr. Hamd has stuck it out in her practice which is why after I moved, I now drive 45 minutes for my appointment with her. I know I am in good hands with her and she will always be there when I need her, even if I have to leave a message.

I see Dr. Hamd for my medication management and I also see a therapist for my talk therapy. Dr. Hamd has been understanding and efficient. She has had to make changes with my medications to get me to an excellent place in my head. This takes time. She has been very patient and diligent to get me to this good place. I highly recommend her.
