Dr. Lakshmi S Sastry, MD

Not impressed with Zoom interview (see other reviews). Sastry said she would have her staff contact me for an appointment. The rest ('Signature') is a concierge nightmare. Still don't understand why I have to pay $1,000 up front for what really is another insurance premium, just to get the old-fashioned care we used to expect.

They set up a Zoom meeting for me with Dr. Lakshmi. Aggressive, interrupting, not too interested in my situation. This is a concierge operation, which currently requires you to plop down $1,000. This is supposed to guarantee the care we used to expect from doctors in the past. I can only conclude that we are paying for the shortage of doctors.

I switched our young adult and adolescent kids to Dr. Sastry as primary care physician as we were told that she is one of the family care doctors who sees both adolescents and adults. Ever since then, she has been reluctant to provide care to this age group and has tried to push us off to the physician's assistant and just generally been very unhelpful and unwilling to provide care. She may be ok for the over 60 set which is the clientele group that she says she prefers to see. However, I found her avoidance of care for our adolescents and young adult to be very frustrating and borderline unethical. We are now looking for a new practice.

Thorough, personable, sense of humor, friendly, capable and confident.

Dr. Sastry is difficult to communicate with since she is more interested in telling you her opinion rather than listening to you. You have to actually deliberately stop her from talking by interrupting in order to make your point or give her key medical information. Conversations with her are unhelpful, chaotic, and do not give you confidence from a medical perspective.

My husband and I don't like taking medications unless absolutely necessary. Dr. Sastry understands this and is open to our exploring alternative methods of controlling cholesterol and bone density. Although she explains her medical perspective, she respects our opinion to use herbs and vitamins.
