Dr. Lana Hart Oglesbee, MD

I had her in 1998. I was pregnant with my first son and didn’t know I had preeclampsia and towards the end of my pregnancy she got on to me do gaining 5 pounds a week . She should have been nicer and explained to me what I needed to do . I was induced a week early then when she gave me an episiotomy she used forceps she possible broke his collar bone . I wasn’t told this at the hospital. I didn’t find out till he was 5 months old from another doctor. She also yanked out the placenta which hurt worse than the baby . Shortly after he was born I got pregnant again and chose another doctor. I had a prolapsed cervix during his birth. I eventually had to have a hysterectomy due to a prolapsed uterus after my 3 baby . Today , after having surgery last year due to a prolapsed vagina it’s still not right. I hope no one chooses her .

Did not review notes in my chart and so kept pressuring me to have an epidural, which I said no to at every visit. I brought my mom to help advocate for me - Dr. Oglesbee abruptly told her I could speak for myself... which I had been doing for months. At that point, I did not feel confident that she would respect my word in L&D, and so I changed to a different doctor at the end of my 3rd trimester.

During my last few visits she looked at my cervix and said there’s adhesions on it and she used her finger to roughly rub the area. Then she talked me in to getting induced even though it was my 4th child and my 3rd had come in 2 hours. I don’t know why I agreed to it but here it is 16 years later and I still regret it. I was given an US before the procedure started and the NP should’ve seen my son was laying face up and not to proceed but nothing was said. My son was hooked on my pubic bone and it was a very difficult delivery and he had to be pulled out very hard which gave him torticollis. I was so upset I allowed this to happen. I would never recommend her or getting induced.

She did not review my chart, did not listen to me about my symptoms, and she was judgemental, rude, and insulting. I will never see her again. I work in the medical profession and her behavior was simply inexcusable.

I waited six years to post a review of Dr. Oglesbee. I was so hurt and emotional that I wanted to wait until I could be sure that I was not misinforming others out of anger or hurt feelings. The office staff was not remarkable, but I would never chose a doctor base on the clerks. Dr. Ogelsbee herself was fairly nice and polite with only a few instances of conflicting behavior. Having had a few social awkward doctors that were great in their field we didn't think much of it. Things went downhill when we went in for the 36 week appointment and she immediately want to do an ultrasound which she had never done before. She told is that that the placenta looked terrible and that she needed to induce immediately. Trusting our doctor we went to St. Francis and anticipated the delivery of our healthy baby boy. After the deliver we asked the nurse what the placenta looked like and she replied "everything looks normal". Soon after deliver our son was rush to the NICU due to a lack of… surfactant in his lungs. The following week Dr. Lana Oglesbee was away on vacation. I've heard horror stories but could not imagine that anyone would put the life of an infant at risk to accommodate their schedule, however all of the evidence points to such practice in this instance. I'm proud to say that our baby boy is now healthy and strong but nothing can take away all of the pain imagining that you could lose a child. I urge you to do your research and don't hesitate to get a second opinion if something doesn't sound right.

This office has an extremely long wait time and reminds me of a public health clinic. If you have private insurance this is not the place..find another doctor. The staff seem clueless, it took them 3 visits to get my insurance deductible amount correct. Save yourself the headache.

Dr. Oglesbee is wonderful. Gentle paps and wonderful bedside manner. She delivered both of my children and I would definitely recommend her!

I have been a patient for 13 years she has seen me through many reproductive issues, a miscarriage and the the delivery of two babies by c-section. I recomend her to friends and I am glad to have her as a physician.
