After being diagnosed with breast cancer, I went to Dr. Smith for a mastectomy. She required that I get a bone scan and also get a port for chemotherapy. I already had an established relationship with an oncologist, so I visited him. He called Dr. Smith and told her that he disagreed on the bone scan and the port for me. After the mastectomy, she gave me a prescription for a breast prosthesis. When I visited the prosthesis shop, they called Dr. Smith's office, and she refused to validate the prescription that she had written unless I would go in for another office visit. It is hard to find a breast surgeon who would require unnecessary medical procedures and deny a breast prosthesis to her own breast cancer patient. I do not recommend Dr. Smith as a breast surgeon.
