She doesn’t listen doesn’t have a good bedside manner

I went to Dr. Fox Lee for a pap because I've had abnormal ones in the past + high risk HPV (I had the vaccine, so just my luck). This one also came back abnormal, and her response was just to repeat it after a year. No colposcopy. No biopsy. Well, a year and a half later with a new provider those cells are CIN3, and I need a LEEP. I'm 31, almost ready to start a family, now with an increased risk of miscarriage or fertility issues in the cards. Had she done the biopsy, these cells might have been removed sooner, before they became CIN3 or at least given my cervix more time to heal. I also asked her if there was increased risk of cancer or any other illness since I had been on the pill for 15 years. She failed to mention that with 9+ years of using the pill, your risk of cervical cancers goes up. I realize she may have been trying to be light-hearted, but really, she just made me feel stupid for asking questions. I went in with a lot of unexplained symptoms, none of which were… ever diagnosed. I felt rushed. It was not a good experience.

We moved so I was only able to meet with Dr. Fox-Lee a few times during my pregnancy but she was excellent. Very informative, kind and personable. Answered all my questions and I felt like her answers were wise and that she would also support any birth plan ideas I wanted. On the other hand, it would sometimes take an hour to see her even with an appointment! So her office really needs to work on how many people they schedule each day.

Had an appointment with Dr. Fox Lee today and was amazed by her wonderful bed-side manner, willingness to explain everything, and all-around warmth. I feel fortunate to have found her.
