Dr. Laura Alyce Katz, MD

Dr. Katz is an amazing doctor. She is insanely thorough which is what you would want in a doctor but I also want to share how REAL she is. Its not a stiff white coat coming into the room speaking AT you in medical terms that you don't understand. (I don't think I have seen her in a white coat lol, pink is definitely the color ??) She is with you eye to eye for as long as it takes to make sure that you are fully clear on everything. She jokes and laughs and shares and just makes you feel so comfortable. I have been seeing her for years and have even let her throw a couple surgeries my way that I would not have entrusted to anyone else. I also need to let you know about the amazing staff. I dont think they ever have a bad day (of course they do!) But you would not know it!!! Professional and real as well!! I am blessed by God to have this wonderful doctor and her staff for my needs.

Great doctor who is compassionate, listens to my concerns and considers all my health issues during my exams. She has performed numerous procedures on me over the years, all successful, using the latest techniques with detailed follow up to be sure I am always moving in a positive direction. Office staff always very friendly and informative about any delays (usually because a baby wants to come into the world). I have been seen within 5 minutes and had to wait as long as 45 minutes. Things happen! I would recommend her to anyone looking for a competent, forward thinking, patient focused health provider.

Dr.Katz is so very sweet, she cares about her patients and always goes the extra mile to ensure that her patients are comfortable with her. She delivered my son, and performed my hysterectomy, she must have been very gentle with me during surgery because I felt no pain afterwards at all, I was just a little groggy from the surgery, but the next day I felt great!! Almost like I never even had surgery!! She is wonderful!!! I never thought I'd be comfortable with ""that kind" of doctor, but Its amazing because Before I met Dr. Katz about 10 years ago,( my son will be 10 in July, that's how I know how long she has been my doctor) I always held back telling the doctor my real problems and what's going on with my body, but With Dr. Katz I was finally able to open up, and feel comfortable talking to a doctor about things, asking her questions, and being comfortable enough for her to deliver my son, and perform my surgeries. Dr. Katz is a true Gem and an angel in white,-literally!! I thank… the good lord above for blessing me with a fantastic doctor like Dr. Katz!

I have been seeing Dr.Katz since I was a teenager for OBGYN issues. A year ago, I had an extremely painful bartholins cyst that was infected and i was unable to walk. I called the office, they said it would be a 2 week waiting period before i could see her. I decided I would wait and wait until I could see Dr. Katz to avoid an ER bill... in the meantime my cyst became so extremely painful that I had to go to the ER. I went to the ER and had to have immediate surgery, it cost me 200$ to go to the ER versus seeing her and having a routine checkup BEFORE my cyst got too big. I met with Dr.Katz afterwards, she said that her staff DO HAVE appointments avaiable for urgent patients who are in high pain, and she ended up consulting with her secretaries about how they need to schedule urgent appointments sooner. I was very impressed with her ability to stick up for her patients. However, I was disappointed when this week, I go to call her again for the same issue (extreme pain from an… infected cyst) and they tell me it will be a two week waiting period again and to "go to the ER if it's bad." I don't have 500$ to go to the ER everytime this happens to me. I'm beyond irritated. The staff were unfriendly and uncaring about my condition, whereas the doctor appeared to be concerned. My findings are that I LOVE my doctor- but the staff are terrible in accomodating your urgent need for an appointment. I am finding a new gynocologist this week, I'm tired of them telling me to go to the ER when I have problems. Isn't that what an OBGYN is for? -Very Disappointed Patient

The staff is awful! They are disrespectful and unprofessional. If I were her, I would clean house and replace everyone. The wait times are awful too, so make sure to set aside a whole day to waste in her office!

While I think Dr. Katz is a wonderful doctor and person, I don't believe her staff supports her they way they need to. I have called a number a times during normal office hours to receive no answer. Upon leaving a message, there are no return phone calls. When I do finally get through, her current receptionists is very short and rude. As much as I love Dr. Katz, I believe after almost 10 years I will be looking for a new doctor.

I don't like passing judgement on anyone, but I do enjoy being able to express positive thoughts. I've only had one visit which was enough for me to know that Dr. Katz was a good person and a fine doctor.

Dr is professional and very knowledgable. She is very bubbly and friendly. Office staff called to let me know my test results were normal (most places only call when there's a problem!) Overall very happy with my choice for OB/GYN.

Not only is she a knowledgeable doctor, but she is compassionate. She listens when you have an issue and takes great care of your needs as a patient.
