Dr. Laura Lee Sirott, MD

I came to see her after I gave birth and had horrible post partum depression and was met with no empathy or kindness. She was judgemental and essentially told me to get over it. A horrific experience.

Sirott is a old fashion, non personal out of touch OB/GYN. Her bedside manners are poor and she has condescending and rude comments. Our birth experience was not memorable in a good way. She did not take my symptoms to heart when I addressed having intense itchy skin and swelling. After waiting twice for bloodwork during my last month of pregnancy and 39 week check up she tells us after all that I do indeed have cholestasis. We were told to have baby asap after induction and then a c-section with very little time to decide.

I would not recommend Dr. Sirott to anyone. I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with this doctor when I went into labor with my first child and my primary OB Dr. Matsuda was not available and Sirott was the only person on call. I had a birth plan that was given to her which when asked, her nurse stated to me in a very short manner that "she was AWARE of it". This immediately gave me the impression that she was most likely not going to consider any of my requests on the birth plan what so ever. I am not a picky person by any means and my requests were simple and I didn't have a novel for a birth plan. I wasn't one of those pregnant women who insisted on a specific birth experience because I knew that anything could very well happen during my delivery that would be out of my control BUT there were a few things Sirott did that I believe was unacceptable. She,first of all, broke my bag of waters without asking me. I expressed to her my concern about waiting for it to break on it's… own and she did not listen. Instead, she pretended not to hear me and had a conversation with the nurse about my condition, right in front of me while she broke my bag of waters. Secondly, she told me that she wanted to give me pitocin to speed up my contractions. I again expressed my concerns and asked if we could wait but she immediately threatened to either give me pitocin or else a c-section would be performed. I then succumbed to the medication and after the delivery of my daughter she had the nerve to say that "all it took was the threat of a c section" to get things going. She actually admitted that she threatened me with the c section procedure. Lastly, my husband wasn't given the opportunity to cut the umbilical cord as requested on the birth plan. Sirott cut the cord immediately after delivery. My husband and I looked at each other right away with very saddened expressions. I may have needed my bag of waters to be broken and in the end maybe pitocon was needed to help the progress of my delivery but Sirott's manner in which she suggested and performed any or all of these medical procedures was in no way professional or kind. I really did feel like the experience was robbed from me. The delivery that I thought would be an amazing experience had turned out to be more traumatic since it felt as though this doctor was trying to get the job done so she could leave for the day. She is rude, short, and unprofessional to say the least. She has no consideration for her patients feelings and I hope that this review is helpful for the next expectant mother who is looking for the right OB. Sirott is definitely not the one.

I thought Dr. Sirott was fine when she was just my gyn. It was when I got pregnant that I realized she wasn't the doc for me. My first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage, and while the nursing staff was so kind, she never seemed too sympathetic. I got pregnant again 6 weeks later, and she didn't ever seem to remember what had happened before. More than once she used the date of last period from my miscarried pregnancy, and I had to remind her that I wasn't that far along. As the pregnancy progressed, I had more questions, but her attitude always seemed just shy of an eyeroll. Our relationship came to an end when my insurance changed mid-pregnancy to onw she didn't accept. Because it was considered continuing care, my new insurance was actually willing to consider her "in network" until I delivered, but she had to agree. She refused, and suggested instead that I see her out of network, which would have cost me 3 times more. No thanks! I'm so glad she took a hard line, though, because the… doctor who did deliver my baby (and the next one!) was wonderful.

I visited Dr. Sirott's office for an annual pap smear. While on the table, she and her nurse enjoyed a good laugh at my expense, when I mentioned that I was trying to conceive. She looked at my chart, saw that I was 41 years old, and sarcastically stated that, "you'd better find a sixteen year old to donate her eggs......yours are old and tired." Sirott and her nurse must have thought this terribly funny, as both women guffawed, while I lay on the table dismayed and disgusted. This was my first AND last time in this woman's office.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH THIS OBGYN. DURING MY LABOR, NURSE TOLD HER I WAS AT LEAST 8MM DILATED, DR SIROTT CHECKED, SAID NOPE, ONLY 5MM. AT THE SAME TIME, THEY SAID THE ANAESTHICIAN IS WITH ANOTHER SURGERY (GOD ONLY KNOWS WHY THEY ONLY HAD 1 ANAESTHICIAN IN THE HOSPITAL!!!!). SO, THEY DIDN'T RUSH THE ANAESTHICIAN, AND END UP I GAVE BIRTH WITHOUT IT, AND ON TOP OF THAT, THE BABY CAME REALLY FAST AND I HAD SEVERAL BAD TEARS. AND THEN SHE DIDN'T DO A GOOD JOB SEWING IT UP. VRY UPSET.

Despite my history of breast cysts, Laura Sirott sent me away with a 8 cm (walnut size) lump in my breast which had appeared in a matter of months. She assured me it was NOT cancer because it did not adhere to the chest wall. She did NOT test it, she simply felt it. Long story short, I insisted on going to a surgeon. She said I was wasting my time but I went anyway. THE LUMP WAS CANCER. Turns out, her crystal ball was wrong and she would have cost me my life had I not disagreed with her and insisted on taking my care to the next level. My advice, if you are seeing her, leave. Leave as soon as possible. If it were up to her poor advice, I would not be typing right now.
