Dr. Laura Diane Thomas, DO

My son is a teenager now & has intracranial hypertension from jugular stenosis. It's essentially stolen his life for 4 years. Dr Thomas was the first neuro in Tennessee he's seen who knew what it was, didn't blame us, and encouraged us to keep seeing Dr Fargen to follow up. She behaved like a normal mother trying to help her child & she treated us kindly & thoroughly. I wish she was staying here! Unfortunately, any great ped Neuro leaves here.

Came here solely to get the clinic phone number but saw the other review and just had to post. Dr Thomas saved my daughter’s life! We fought for months telling every doctor we saw that our daughter’s headaches weren’t typical migraines. We finally got a referral to see Dr Thomas and I promise you it took this lady minutes to realize we needed to be in the emergency department. She stopped the appointment and coordinated everything. Hours later my daughter was in the OR with a neurosurgeon. My daughter had a brain tumor! We followed with Dr Thomas until she graduated and left for Tennessee. She inspired my daughter to peruse medical school and we were looking up her clinic number to call and say THANK YOU. We saw this doctor for years in many appointments. She is a straightforward kind of lady but she is brilliant, genuine, and you can ask her almost anything and you will get an honest answer (she won’t beat around the bush per se). This doctor even stopped by to say hi and work with my… daughter on homework while she was receiving her chemotherapy infusions! You won’t regret working with Dr Thomas (she makes you a teammate vs telling you what to do). She could save your child’s life like she did ours! Last thing, I can kind of see how you could think her bedside manner is tough but call her out or accept that she answers in a straightforward manner (I called her out on it and immediately saw who she really was- simply the best doctor we’ve ever had). Wishing we could beg her to comeback to NC!

Would not recommend this neurologist at all! My son has had benign rolandic epilepsy for 2 years or so and had the worst seizure he has ever had today lips turned blue breathing stopped and unresponsive, full body convulsions and all followed by a second seizure not so severe 45 mintues or so later give or take so went to ER by ambulance she was on call for ER and wouldn't even come and see him in person had to stay over night for her to come in the morning to see him cause she wouldn't come to see him today at all. Which to me shows lack of care for the well being of your patient. Then she comes the next morning in a attitude pretty much from the start. I make a comment to my mother and she don't like it and terminates my son as a patient of hers. How can you ethically do that to a 7 year old who has something that could kill him!!!

I have to agree with most of the comments I’ve read. She has no respect or sympathy. She was rude and did not listen or care about our concerns. I have never in my life been disrespected by a Doctor. She does not care about how you feel. As she said and I quote “ I’m the only Chief in my kitchen “. When I was referred to get a second opinion. Please don’t take your child to her or put yourself through her self righteous attitude. A terrible bed side manner is a understatement concerning her. I usually never take time to write reviews but after reading hers I decided if I could possibly save someone from being hurt so badly the way we were I decided I would.
