Dr. Lauren Brian Hawkins, MD

First of all I just got my bill from this place and it cost $200 just for seeing her. Apparently my insurance didn't cover it, I wish they would have mentioned it to me when I had gave them my insurance information when I scheduled the appointment. Secondly, I have Hashimotos-hypothyroidism and have seen so many regular GPs and figured I'd give an endocrinologist a try. Waste of money, I basically told her a host of health issues (the doctor that sent me to her was basically tired of dealing with my ailments and told me she wasn't going to handle my stuff anymore and to tell the endocrinologist all my issues for referrals). I do amazing on nature-throid and told her (my last doctor switched me to levo and I felt like crap and gained 20lbs without changing anything in my diet or lifestyle, this has happened every time I go on levo) but all Dr Hawkins done was doubled my levo dose (a dose I've been on before) and my symptoms got worse and the tightness in my neck got so bad I couldn't… keep taking the medication. I have made an appointment with a new GP since my last GP doesn't want to see me anymore apparently. She gave me a referral to see a GI, ENT, and to have an ultrasound. (A very expensive procedure that I've had done in the past) except her reason for the untra sound was because my thyroid "felt full". I'm sorry but I've been dealing with this disease for 6 years, I've done years of research, and telling me my thyroid felt full doesnt mean crap. She had no comments or explanations for any of my symptoms. Literally shrugged her shoulders and said it was odd and she doesn't know. Lastly, I have been having trouble hearing people and ear sensitivity, so the few things she did say when I asked her to explain a certain blood draw she was going to do (which she hardly explained, as if I wouldn't be able to comprehend her explanation), I had to ask my husband what she said after the appointment because she had a face mask on the entire appointment and so I wasn't able to read her lips and her voice was blocked slightly from the mask. Also, when I told her about some hormonal issues she said she doesn't know and she doesn't do things with hormones. Look up the definition of endocrinologist, literally someone that deals with hormones! Basically, save your money! I've had GPs do more for my thyroid situation than she did. Unless you want to pay someone to sit there while you listen to your own voice.I don't know if there are better endocrinologists out there, but if this is all they do, just stick with a GP. Now I need medication and have to wait 3 months for a new patient appointment at another doctors office. As someone that has suffered from thyroid issues for years, haven't been able to hold a job due to health, and been through MANY doctors, how are we supposed to pay for all this crap? Financial assistance for this office says we make like 1,000 over for financial assistance, but do they take into account that we have medical bills out of the wazoo? Just pure disappointment. Losing hope in doctors once again

I saw her for the first time yesterday and was very impressed with her. I am coming to her after moving in the area from Dallas where I had one of the top Doctors in that area. Dr Hawkins was caring and listened to me as far as my history, medications, goals, etc. I went to see her in the interview mode as I like to make sure my doctor and myself are a good fit and if I would put her on my medical team. She passed with flying colors. We worked up a plan of care, did lab work and set up follow up appointments. I look forward to using her to take care of my diabetes.

Terrible doctor for thyroid problems. She ignores your symptoms, and listens to you without hearing you. Instead she makes up her mind on your first visit as to what she thinks is wrong and interprets lab tests to fit her diagnosis.

They are usually on time. Always call promptly with test results. Staff always does their best to help me with samples, insurance, etc.

Worst bedside manner ever

She explains carbs to me, tries to help me control my sugars. Staff is very nice and friendly. They usually run on time.

Very condescending, does not return phone calls or communicate test results. My daughter's problems are as bad as ever. Looking for another Dr.

Never was she on time. They never called me back with blood test results,when I called them never returned my calls. Lost the results of test twice and had to have the test redone.
